There are currently 2450 pictures in rotation. By my calculation, which could be wrong, bumuming each round lasts 3 minutes, a completely even distribution of pics would take over 5 days for repetition. If you played 24/7, you’d see each pic 6 times a month, on average. It’s possible there’s something wrong with the algorithm, but if you play a lot you’re bound to see repetition.
The way to solve this would be, of course, adding more pictures. But that’s only temporary, repetition is bound to happen. Even if we added another 10000 pictures, you’d repeat within a month. And then, we hit the other issue you talk about — cooler pictures. I don’t think we could find 10000 cool pictures.
And even if we did, after you’d seen them a couple of time, you’d be complaining about repetition again… |

“cool” pictures is not the issue, maybe just repetitive pics. There’s no need for the pic to be “cool” to make a decent submission. there are A LOT of great motivationals made for sucky pics around the net, and also a lot of unfunny **** with wow.so.****ing.great pictures. |

Having not actively played it in a long time, I never thought I’d hear those words. I remember posts in Flamebate asking people to come play so they could have enough submissions to go to the voting page. And sitting on a submission page for over half an hour waiting for a 5th person… Or a 4th, even… |

I agree to some extent. The amount of funny does also tie together with the topic of discussion in the chat. That is what makes it funny for me a lot of the time.
If we are talking about Xylons naked pictures and a picture shows up where someone is looking in disgust of surprise…the ‘XYLONS NUDE PICS can never be unseen’ makes me lol.
Also, this site has many n00bs downvoting things for no particular reason (see Forumbuildr), so removing INCIT wins below -5 doesn’t seem like a great idea to me, especially when going for the leaderboard e-peen.
I do agree the time to submit is a tad too long and we should be allowed to use characters in submissions. Showing who voted for what also seems like an improvement, although I don’t really see the necessity in that, since many people aren’t ashamed to admit they dumpvoted.
/my 2 cents |

I like the bracket by # of wins idea.
Scoops should be great timesulative to a point if you win 2,3, etc. in a row, since that’s usually pretty hard to do.
Showing who voted for what sounds great, it would make the game a little more honest and transparent, theoretically.
As far as not allowing overused subs to win, that seems far fetched. How would that be implemented besides players just making better subs and people not voting like complete and utter retards? What ****es me off is when people submit “can’t think of anything” or “dumpvote here”. If you cant’ think of anything, don’t submit anything. It makes for more **** I have to read, and makes the voting round longer than it has to be.
Overall, INCIT could use better players.
Thank you. |

This. I don’t think you can compare INCIT ratings to Forumbuildr entries, because an INCIT win has already won by the time it can be rated. Why take away someone’s win because someone decides to mbum-downvote them? It would end up punishing anyone who’s well-known but not universally liked (Fran, Xylon, and yes, me too). |

I don’t believe I was bringing up anything about taking away their win. I’m talking about their rank in the hall of **** being slightly off. For example: Say their rank is 34 and they have -4 on one submission. If someone downvotes that submission does it go to 29? Or did that just completely throw the sub out, NEGATING the negative votes? And going back to 38? That was why I asked if it will act LIKE the rating system Forumbulr score. I’m saying change the INCIT submission allotment either, just a query about the scoring system. |

I agree with this, I don’t think it’s a good idea to restrict voting to a level 4 or above because then only that level of character would be able to play. I actually only have stayed on Forumwarz for as long as I have because I found Incit fun and then started getting into other stuff. Had it not been for my ability to participate in Incit I wouldn’t be here. Log in to see images! |

Something else that occurs to me is this. While I thank the mod who leaked a few upcoming improvements that are in the cue Log in to see images!,
These are a few issues that I believe deserve the most immediate attention
As ET said on twitter, forumwarz is one giant database. That being said, it is likely that each win is stored there. I have won multiple times by recycling old winners. It shouldn’t be too hard to set a check in the code to cross reference the database to see if a user is trying to recycle a submission.
I have come back to my computer to see every one of my submissions summarily downvoted. It would be nice to see who is doing that by showing who downvoted your submissions after the fact.
Something of a bit more importance: Hall of **** entries need a report rule violation link or feature on their individual pages. Some textual submissions go so far beyond what is considered obscene or offense that it is outright abusive. |

Link please. But I seriously doubt it. This is a game about trolling, I expect there to be serious trolls in INCIT submissions/wins.

I have yet to see one win, but I have seen some god awful submissions telling people to kill themselves or telling people to enjoy/murder. I know you guys are Canadian but it is illegal to incite suicide or violence online here in the states |

The only problem with this is that sometimes people come up with the same ideas as have been submitted before without knowledge of the previous entry. “Great minds think alike” and all that. Just ask any of Tesla’s descendants.
Xylon Posted:
I think that the general sense of humour here precludes censorship; damn near every bit of this game involves something ridiculously offensive to someone. Crossing any line depends on where you draw it; for me, the appeal of this game is that the line is drawn so far from the generally accepted boundary of good taste. (And anyone driven to perform violence based on what an online community tells them to do doesn’t belong in my collective unconscious anyway)
That being said, perhaps INCIT needs full-time moderators, if only to eliminate spam and dumpvote fodder. StarkJade edited this message on 02/18/2009 9:42PM |
