It shouldn’t be too hard to set a check in the code to cross reference the database to see if a user is trying to recycle a submission.

The only problem with this is that sometimes people come up with the same ideas as have been submitted before without knowledge of the previous entry. “Great minds think alike” and all that. Just ask any of Tesla’s descendants.

Something of a bit more importance: Hall of **** entries need a report rule violation link or feature on their individual pages. Some textual submissions go so far beyond what is considered obscene or offense that it is outright abusive.

I think that the general sense of humour here precludes censorship; damn near every bit of this game involves something ridiculously offensive to someone. Crossing any line depends on where you draw it; for me, the appeal of this game is that the line is drawn so far from the generally accepted boundary of good taste. (And anyone driven to perform violence based on what an online community tells them to do doesn’t belong in my collective unconscious anyway)

That being said, perhaps INCIT needs full-time moderators, if only to eliminate spam and dumpvote fodder.
