I *would* have put it up there with a buy-out price of 5,000,000 so that people could get their instant-gratification on, but with that option denied to me I’m going to have to rely on other means to do something as close to that as possible. 	Character idea: The Artist OrsonScottCard Posted: There are currently no low-defense/high-damage (effective if acyclic or short-cycle – basically an RPG wizard or sorcerer-type), mid-defense/mid-damage (true balanced clbum), or a high-defense/mid-damage long cycle (strategist-type). I see room for three more clbumes. The camwhore is wizard-like, but ranks as mid-damage because of the scale setters. Emokids can put out up to 2x their normal damage once they get their ego down low, and hackers get the best stat boosting equipment in the game. Camwhores can’t beat either in raw damage, but they theoretically make up for that in two ways: 1: Camwhores have zero prep time for achieving maximum damage per round. 2: Camwhores can (theoretically) constantly hit a thread for high damage. Of course, with the clbumes broken as all hell none of this holds true anymore. Currently the troll is high damage/high defense, the camwhore is low defense/low damage, the emokid and hacker are mid defense/mid damage. He hit the top of the flezz leaderboard testing it, but that didn’t actually have any tangible impact on FWZ aside from lulz being had. 	Way to go CZ Acid Flux Posted: Personally, I don’t see the point of allowing Junk to be auctioned in the first place. Other than these auctions in question, are people really paying more for the Junk than a player would get for selling it in the Ppwn Shoppe? Once I’ve got an optimal .moar set, I intend to start collecting statues and cats. Also, perhaps the auction house could start tracking the selling price of items. If something sells for more than two standard deviations above the average, then the auction should be flagged for review. Otherwise it’s within the realm of normal bidding. Mailinator was intentionally set-up to provide public-use accounts that anyone can access. Go to mailinator, type in the account name, and you can view all the mail that account has received in the past 60 minutes. But it’s still B&E/trespbuming. Breaking and entering requires that you gain entry forcibly. If the door wasn’t locked then it’s not B&E. If you left the key under the mat, that’s ALSO not B&E. Trespbuming still applies though. Acid Flux Posted: Even if the padlock on the garage is old & rusty, if you break it off and take stuff out of the garage, that’s a crime. Tubs was using a MAILINATOR account, and mailinator accounts are PUBLICLY VIEWABLE. For these purposes, we can consider it a “shared account”. 1: HoG made a LEGITIMATE request to the server for a pbumword reset. He did not hack the site, he did not intentionally send it bad data, he simply used the form like any other person would. 2: HoG checked that email account, to which that he had LEGITIMATE access. 3: He used the information in that email to attain access to Tubs’ account. If you ask somebody for the key and they give it to you, then barring coercion you have done nothing illegal. IIRC, under both US and Canadian law, legitimate possession of a key is considered legitimate access. In other words, if you have a house key that you acquired legally, then it’s not trespbuming to be in that house. It’s also worth noting that HoG didn’t go around screwing things up when he got in. He played a prank or two and didn’t even TRY to cover it up. While NORMALLY I would be saying that he should have reported it to ET and not done anything else, this IS FWZ and there IS a culture here to consider. Taking that into consideration, playing harmless pranks is certainly acceptable behavior. To say otherwise is making things SRS BSNS, and just going to result in a negative community response. The site is stable now and back to normal operation. Yea, it sucks when something works on your test server but screws the pooch on your live server. You ARE running three servers, right? Live, testing, and beta? The live being the production server, the testing server being as perfect a clone of the live server as possible so you can pre-rollout changes there, and the beta server for trying out stuff you don’t want hitting the production server yet, right? 	Great idea for a moar file Largehardoncollider Posted: You’re bad at math. Your guess of how many pieces to complete the file was way under and the forum visits needed was way over. You said it’s a 2600 piece file, so the average number of pieces required is the summation of 1/(x/2600) for all numbers between 1 and 2600, which rounds to 21946. You also said it would be the only drop in a forum that has 99-101 threads. Since each thread drops one piece, you would need to fight through 21946 threads to get 21946 pieces, and at 100 threads per visit that would work out to be 220 visits.
