Yesterday was a horrible day for me. Things just kept going wrong and it was incredibly distressing. The site is stable now and back to normal operation.

Yea, it sucks when something works on your test server but screws the pooch on your live server.

You ARE running three servers, right? Live, testing, and beta? The live being the production server, the testing server being as perfect a clone of the live server as possible so you can pre-rollout changes there, and the beta server for trying out stuff you don’t want hitting the production server yet, right?

In related news, VMWare Server 2 is pretty damn good.
