Minor Interface SuggstionsThanks for the “select all junk” bumon, Trout.
How about changing the Bookmarks interface so that it actually drops down like a real bookmark in Firefox? It would be interesting, and we can actually go to the different places faster I’ll think. Though this does beg the question of where the descriptions would go: maybe as a little floating box on the right of the drop-downs? (view post) |

D&D Interest CheckTo genericangstyposter: do you have any character progression in mind currently? I was thinking Disciple of Baalzebul or Mammon looks best for your character, though if you have any other in mind let me know. Of course, feel free to stay as a pure rogue/multiclbum if you so desire. To everyone, since Dinctius has been sort of MIA these few days, does anyone mind if we go ahead with just three people? Or do you prefer to wait for a new person to join, or wait for Dinctius to return? Let’s take a vote on it. (view post) |

Where is this from? I’m afraid I can’t find it in my 3.5 SRD, but regardless it’s not in 3.0. Sorry mate. Which reminds me, since your background is predominantly 3.5: Power Attack may not work the way you’re used to. Have a quick re-read through the feats in 3.0, but otherwise things should be pretty much the same.
Equipment --------- 258gp + gold from boots +1 Halberd 2310gp +1 Spiked Full Plate 2700gp Battleaxe 10gp MW Composite Longbow 400gp Arrows x40 2gp Ring of +1 Protection 2000gp Backpack and basics 100gp -Caltrops -Crowbar -Bedroll -Bullseye lantern -Fishing rod -Rope -Signal whistle -Tindertwigs -other miscellanea
I like the equipment so far save for the Boots, which are (again) not in 3.0 unfortunately. Log in to see images! However, there’s a lot you can consider in place of the boots: I’ve sent you an email with a list of possible magic items on p732. Take a gander and maybe consider some of the following:
– Potions of Cure Moderate/Serious Wounds (300/750gp): Like I told Night Gaunt, potions are very often an adventurer’s best friend, and all the more so for a frontline fighter like yourself. Expect to be smacked around quite often, so pot up!
– Potion of Bull Strength (300gp): If your wizard’s all out of buffs, it’s up to you to come prepared. The 1d4+1 enhancement to Strength not only means +1 to hit, but also a +1 to damage: the equivalent of an additional point of enchantment on your halberd. Definitely worth stocking up on.
– Amulet of Natural Armour (2000gp): Because +1 AC is +1 AC.
– Boots of Striding and Springing (2500gp): Read it and weep. Yes, that’s double your movement speed. In full plate armour, when you only move 20ft, moving that additional 20ft can be invaluable. Besides, this boots also gives you +10 to Jump. Is that a bargain or is that a bargain?
– Gray Bag of Tricks (900gp): I don’t know why, but I’ve always loved the bag of tricks. Nothing really beats the feeling of being a Pokemon master, I expect. In all seriousness, though, the Bag of Tricks’ summons can sometimes be more useful than you think; a rat can gnaw through rope, a bat can scout and scare people, a cat is nice to stroke… that sort of stuff. |

D&D Interest CheckSabre_Justice Posted: I’ve given it some thought, Sabre, and I think I’ve found a couple of possible prestige clbumes for your character to advance into. You pick one that you think sounds interesting, and I’ll Tubmail you the requisites to move into it. Alternatively, if you find anything that looks interesting to you, let me know anyway. The rest of you, look away. Log in to see images!
– Thrall of Juiblex: Juiblex is a chaotic-evil demon whose domain is that of slime and ooze. Their abilities run towards secreting caustic slime, summoning oozes, spreading disease and contagion, altering their face and forms, and spewing projectile vomit. For an apathetic character, he might just as well sell his soul to a foul demon as long as it keeps him alive. Recommended. – Warrior of Darkness: through mastery of alchemy the Warrior of Darkness anoints himself with strange oils and potions to gain supernatural powers, such as darkling weapon (weapon gains +1 or equivalent enchantment bonus), dark senses (ability to sense anything within 60 ft even in complete darkness), demonic wings and such. Alternatively, you can just level up purely as a fighter and build your character around the fighting styles as shown in the Quintessential Fighter, in which case you’ll need to take note of the requirements each have for their style. With the halberd, Orask is probably the best choice, or Ralix if you prefer something more plain. I’ll stay away from Horsepike because I’ll tell you straight up that we won’t be doing much mounted combat in this game. There’s no reason why you can’t take a prestige clbum and a fighting style at the same time, just take into consideration the feats required. Why do I ask about your intended path of progress? For starters, it would probably affect your skill and feat choices from early on, and I’ll like you guys to be able to develop a character that is full not only story-wise, but also mechanically flavourful as well. Prestige clbumes, I find, add a lot of flavour especially mechanically, so that’s what I usually look at first. Equipment suggestions and reviews coming up next. (view post) |

Log in to see images! Next, are you sure you want to wear leather armour? Because I think you forgot to update the AC section of the character from my template. I’ve made the necessary adjustments to most the whole sheet, so have a look through them again. What race are you going to be? If you’re human, you get an additional feat at level 1 and +1 skill point per level. The same question applies for the rest of you, by the way: I haven’t seen a single mention of race in any of the sheets! Log in to see images! Re: languages and skills. You get 2 languages for being human, and one additional free language for every point of Int modifier. That means you’ve got 3 more languages (within reason) that you can take if you so desire, or just leave them blank if you don’t like being multi-lingual. Skills, unfortunately, have a maximum rank of 7 at level 4, so I’ve adjusted that too. You’ll need to level up once more as a wizard before you can meet the prerequisites for the prestige clbum. Re: equipment. I’ll recommend some clothing, first of all. Log in to see images! Have a look at p141 of the file I sent you and choose something you like from there, with appropriate minor changes if you so desire. That aside, you still have 6073gp to play with: a fairly substantial amount of money, even if I say so myself. I’ll recommend considering the following (p732):
– Ring of Protection +1 (2000gp): adds +1 deflection to your AC. Doesn’t seem like much, but deflection bonuses always stack in AC, so it will add up if you eventually get other deflection items. – Potion of Cure Moderate/Serious Wounds (300/750gp): heals you for 2d8/3d8 worth of damage respectively. Potions are every adventurer’s best friend because even if you’re unconscious, your party members can shove one down your throat as opposed to dragging you along with them. – Wand of Magic Missiles III (2250gp): what can I say? Magic Missile is a mainstay of D&D, and 2d4+2 damage isn’t anything to scoff at when you’re holding a wand with 50 castings worth of charges. Remember, they ignore armour and always hit, so as long as you are covered, you can whittle down just about anything with Magic Missiles, given time and the lack of magical resistance. – Wand of Detect Magic (375gp): you’ll be your party’s most valued bumet when you can quickly separate the magical items from the mundane. Your rogue will also love you- hopefully only in a platonic sense, given his character- if you can identify magical traps as being magical. And at 375gp, it’s a steal! – Brooch of Shielding (1500gp): remember the Wand of Magic Missiles…? Well, this one stops you from being the target of those annoying magic missiles from enemy casters. Absorbs up to 101 points of magic missile damage before breaking. – Scrolls (variable): since you only know 4+Int modifier spells at level 1, I’ll very strongly recommend that you get as many scrolls as you can so that you can expand your spell repertoire a little. Where a sorcerer’s advantage is the number of spells he can cast in a day, a wizard’s is the number of spells he knows: maximise that advantage! To scribe a spell from a scroll to a spellbook, it will require a Spellcraft check (DC 15 + spell level). And so on and so forth. Also, spells. For spellcasters I’ll need to know what spells you know and what spells you have memorised for the day. Remember, you start off with 7 spells at level 1, and learn 2 spells for free every level. However, as mentioned above, if you buy scrolls you can Spellcraft them into your own book. Each spell takes up a number of pages equal to the spell’s level in your spellbook (minimum 1), which starts off at 100 pages. Don’t worry, we’ll get rid of that limit soon enough because I hate counting pages too. For the life of me I can’t remember how to figure out fortitude and all that fun stuff. Also about the prestige clbum Pale Master you told me about earlier, I took the requirements for it but I’m not sure how prestige clbumes work exactly. When I start one do I start at level 1 or does it keep pace with the amount of levels I have and gah I’m sure I’m just way over thinking this my mind is going in circles. Log in to see images! It works exactly like another clbum, except that you need to meet some requirements before you’re allowed to take a level in it; hence the “prestige”. *does the wriggly fingers thing* (view post) |

Nah, I actually finished it at level 8 without knowing that it was the last forum, else I would surely have grinded more at the lower level forums before entering. I used up maybe 8 XRXRs in the course of the trip and 2-3 Teardrops. Since this thread is so spoilery, maybe it’ll be a better idea to move it to the Elitist Lounge?

And yes, this curse has lasted that long. I’d say on a subconscious level he’s still repulsed by some of the people he’s had sex with, even if the curse has stayed active. He once had sex with someone that looked like John Candy’s fatter older sister, for instance.
But what if the curse has since expired a long time ago, and he’s really doing this of his own volition ever since…? DUM DUM DUMMMMM!!! We’ll just leave that as that for now, but, y’know, I’m just saying, is all.

This looks great. A quick question as to character motivation, though: what is it that Voaer wants out of life? To **** everyone (figuratively and maybe literally)? Is there anything that drives him: be it sensual hedonism, power, the wanton destruction of the world, vengeance? Or is there an overarching apathy towards life, a certain drudgery that he masks with his excess and reckless abandon? (view post) |

Strange. I always make sure to deploy my Defence buff (+5) whenever I can because it does make a noticeable difference. Usually it isn’t much, maybe 2 or 3 points shaved off each attack, but that adds up to a fair bit saved over 9 turns.

Heh, I think that would be amusing, but… no. Not for me. Honestly, as far as my games go, what I usually like to do is issue magical items near the start of the game that ensure unlimited supplies of food for the whole party so we can get on with the bloody plot instead of worrying about how you’re going to carry that 9lb worth of rations and 2lb worth of your own excretion. Same thing for arrows and shots because I’ve been a player myself, and I know the pain of keeping count of those things.
Besides, one of the perks of being in a dungeon is that the state provides for your lifestyle. Log in to see images!
However, that said, clothing is important! I’ll bumume people who do not purchase any clothing will be thrown into one of those state-issued prison jumpers and become the next most eligible target for bounty hunters everywhere. The way you’re dressed may also give you cirgreat timesstance modifiers to your Bluff, Diplomacy or similar checks, so do take some time to think about that. (view post) |

D&D Interest CheckOh, I forgot to mention one thing too. Regarding levelling your character up from 1 to 4, you may either take half your HD +1 or roll using any online roller, mailing the results to terenceleongty@gmail.com . If you choose to roll, though, you’ll be stuck with that result even if it’s worst than half +1! (view post) |
