Bamp opens fire on the ex-humans. As some of his shots stray into the darkness, he hears an angry moo from that direction. Hoping he can clear out the small fry before the hell knight rocks up, he tears two of them apart and starts on the others.

Too late.
Leaving the enraged knight for later, Bamp retreats, grabs the closest health globe, then approaches the door cautiously on an angle. Spying a sergeant, he unloads on it. Seconds later, he finds himself up against the hell knight. He starts running, firing as he dodges attacks. Unfortunately his shots go everywhere EXCEPT at the hell knight, and before he knows it, the creature, hurt but very much alive, is in his face, prepared to rip him limb from limb. ****.

You got a health pack or a homing device? If so, use, then kill the bastard.
If not, just fire away and hope for the best. |

Gritting his teeth, Bamp engages the hell knight. Its first blow severs the tattered remains of his armor, leaving it in pieces on the floor. Even at point blank range, Bamp is shaking so much that nearly all his shots miss the beast (seriously, why the hell didn’t anyone pick Eagle Eye for crying out loud Log in to see images!). As it gouges chunks out his his flesh, Bamp manages to pull out a small medpack and patch up some of the wounds. Stopping his fast pace and settling more into a cautious tactic, he keeps firing, this time hitting the beast several times.
The battle is bloody and fierce, but eventually the battered marine emerges victorious. Torn, bleeding and broken in several places, the trip to the other side of the floor seems to take years. Bamp reaches the remaining Large Health Globe without further incident however, and his terrible wounds immediately vanish. Filling his pack with as much ammo as possible (little else of value is left), Bamp descends the staircase, stopping only to dispatch the cursed room’s last occupant, a lone imp. He is greeted with an alarming sight.

Swearing that he must’ve been a real bumhole in a past life or something, Bamp senses an overwhelming smell even through the closed doors…acid. LOTS of it. The floor must be ****ing CHOKED with barrels. This could be dangerous….. |

They probably haven’t noticed you yet. That said, without armor that’s gonna HURT. Start blasting away at the closest one, you won’t make it to the door before at least one of them goes after you. |

Figuring that if he can surprise the demons he’ll have a better chance of survival, Bamp runs down the stairs, chaingun blazing. One demon hits the ground dead before it even realizes what is happening. Bamp is about to fire on another when he has a sudden revelation…time freezes for an instant, and he feels that comforting rush of knowledge…

Having learned from his battles with the hell knights, Bamp feels that he knows better how to target these damned monsters. The demons are still too stunned at the sudden hail of bullets to react immediately, so he focuses his fire on the other one next to him. THEN they react. Bamp’s world is suddenly full of teeth, claws, pain and blood. He is forced to use his large medpack when a particularly savage blow brings him to death’s door. Unrelenting, he trades blows with the creatures, giving as good as he receives. Eventually, he emerges the victor, but far worse off than when he begun.

He ponders whether he should use his last small medpack now, or hope that his luck takes a turn for the better and he finds a powerup or something. |

Don’t use the medipack yet. Open one of the doors. If the baddies behind are something you can’t deal with, close the door again, and either open the other one, or use your medipack and attack them. |

Cautiously, Bamp opens the right-hand door. A cacodemon grins at him. He promptly closes it again. Checking the left door, he sees an imp. Firing at it, he misses, hits a barrel, and blasts chunks out of the walls. Noticing another blood-stained staircase, Bamp reads the sign: “Hell’s Armory”. Interesting.
Seeing rooms full of barrels and ex-humans preparing to fire in said rooms, he decides it prudent to try the corridor above his starting point. A sergeant spots him and clumsily fires, missing him by miles. Bamp hesitates. These ex-humans are easy pickings, but somewhere in that room lies a cacodemon, a fight with which could be very risky at this point…

Angle to the side, and shoot the barrel at the far left of the room, if that was near where the cacodemon was. Shoot the former humans etc if you have to. If the cacodemon shows up, get into an angle where it can’t fire at you. Use medpack at some point. R2 edited this message on 06/10/2008 9:02AM |

Ignoring the ex-humans, Bamps edges to the right. Suddenly, the air is filled with bullets! Through a bloody haze, Bamp sees a captain preparing the fire its chaingun again. Shaking, he scores several shots to the head, felling the creature. Then out of the darkness, he is grazed by shotgun pellets. Close to death, he hears, seemingly from another world, the harsh hiss of the cacodemon. His vision fading in and out of focus, the marine spins weakly to see the monster glaring at him from within the room.

Turn run on, move to the left. Fire and/or use the medpack before the former sarge is ready to fire (as he will need to reload before he can do that). |

Knowing that to have any chance of survival he must rebumess the situation, Bamp flees to the west, to prepare for this challenge. He leaves the sergeant to reload his shotgun, and throwing his emaciated form through badly-aimed pistol bullets, Bamp is stopped dead by a shotgun blast from another sergeant. He collapses to the floor, a gaping hole in his chest. As the marine lays dying, still clutching his trusty chaingun, he feels content that at least he gave Hell quite a headache during his adventure.

Actually, the game counts lava/acid baths as suicides for some reason. Stupid levers.
