If you can’t offer any constructive criticism, shut the hell up. For each partially completed .moar file, have two options: 1) List all non-unique pieces 2) List all pieces. For each piece that is sold in this way, of say the darkside file, create an auction for “piece of darkside” without identifying which piece it is. Allow people using the “buy-it-now” option to buy multiple pieces at once (eBay does this for some auctions). Anybody who wins the auction for “piece of darkside” or buys multiple pieces will receive, at random one of the 50 pieces of darkside, regardless of which pieces were actually listed. Replace the text you currently get when you win an auction by something like “You won a piece of darkside… you received piece #28”. Since the pieces that drop from threads are, as far as anybody can tell, uniformly distributed this would be exactly equivalent to getting a drop from a thread, it just requires the expenditure of flezz and not a forum visit. So basically, you can make a fun, easy to use, system for selling .moar pieces in a Fukubukuro format (like Bags of Crap on woot.com). Plus, come on… if you’re going to name the thing Kyoubai (Kay, you buy), how could you not offer the Fukubukuro (**** you, buckaroo) option? (view post)	01/07/2009
	Kyoubai, the new ForumWarz Auction House. MC Banhammer Posted: The problem is that pieces don’t have rarity, files do. So marking just a few pieces untradeable doesn’t hurt anybody. And I think that’s where the .moar files concept was blown. Files shouldn’t be rare, specific pieces should be. Then it’d be like CCGs and other collectible cards. I was meaning more “files are such that every piece of the file is untradeable”. So if we don’t want people to be able to pick up darkside by getting the refuse from other players, we make it so no piece of the darkside file is tradeable. But certainly there’s no problem letting people buy pieces of other .moars that are less monumental to acquire. (view post)	01/07/2009
	Kyoubai, the new ForumWarz Auction House. Big Brother Posted: ... the whole ****ing reason anyone wanted the auction house was for DOING SOMETHING with incomplete moar files…. ET, you really blew this one. Not a single person wants to sell, say, a tumorous heart. Everyone wants to sell redundant pink floyd parts and buy the ones they need. While I certainly wouldn’t make this point in as… aggressive a manner as you did, I must say that the reason I was excited for the auction house when I heard about it was “Hooray! I can finally complete some of these files I’m (n-1/n) on!” Unfortunately that’s not the way it worked out. If we want to make certain things require a month of grinding to get (like pink floyd) would it really be a problem to mark pieces of certain .moar files untradeable, and let people trade pieces of other files? Though honestly, as someone who spent a month grinding to get darkside, I wouldn’t mind at all if somebody else could get it by spending a bit of flezz. (view post)	01/07/2009

In terms of selling file pieces, if it’s too complex and trivializing to let people list individual pieces by themselves, how about letting people simultaneously list “all but one” of every piece of a file that’s partially completed (e.g. if I have 4x piece #1 and 3x piece #9 I would give up 3x piece #1 and 2x piece #9). Then list each individual piece blindly as “Piece of [name of .moar file].” So buying it/winning an auction for it wouldn’t really be any different than getting a forum to drop it. So it really wouldn’t make completing high quality .moars “trivial”. It also would let people get rid of excess file pieces that just clog up inventory. I recently completed darkside, and after extracting it I had about 250 pieces of the file remaining. I never want to see HOFF again, so I’m not going to make any more copies. I’d just like to be rid of those 250 pieces; whether or not I get anything out of it. (view post)	01/07/2009

	RUNOFF POLL: Name Forumwarz's auction house! MC Banhammer Posted: Then you’re due for unhappiness. The auction house as planned will allow selling of completed files, not pieces of files. The neatnik in me really chafes at having all of these unnecessary parts of files lying around in inventory. After extracting darkside, I was immediately back to 49/50 with 300 or so pieces other than #28 lying around. Will there ever be a way I can just get rid of those? 	so i'm going to try and beat the game without using any upgrade points... (spoilers) Sapper Posted: Do not agree. We don’t want to encourage people to attempt this. This is like encouraging Davd Hbumelhof to get drunk and eat hamburgers. No one should have to watch this, and certainly no one should be rewarded for killing this many brain cells. Oh what the hell. E-Peen for this sounds reasonable. Maybe one like “WTF WERE YOU THINKING” With an Icon of Britanny Spear’s shaved head. Well, for some particularly goofy stunts, an ePeen would probably be reasonable for the first person to do accomplish said feat, and not to anybody else. Being able to say “I’m the first person to do X” is more impressive than being able to say “I did X”, so peen for the first person that others don’t receive isn’t really unreasonable. 	Fix Hackers KindFearlessLeader Posted: They also kind of get nailed hard on luck. The hacker build is entirely based around having a really high luck… while most the best moar files in the game for hackers (and the best moar file in the game) are low luck drops(?). 	Fix Hackers Effective hacker play comes down to “Having enough Processing Power to pwn forums without consumables while using 4 beast0r cables.” Doing that really requires some decent .moar files (I heartily recommend Riprogrammatori). But the four beast0r cables are not optional. The Hackers that established the benchmark that resulted in the clbum getting nerfed were all using 4 beast0rs. Other than “Four Beast0rs, enough PP to keep you funded, and good .moar files” you just want to put a lot of points into offense, and enough points in ego. Also, don’t use avtr if it would require you to use any PP consumables. Playing a hacker you just have to realize that your attacks are going to stink unless you get your offense up to at least 170. EDIT: Oh, and it helps to not compare them to trolls. Trolls are silly overpowered relative to the other clbumes right now. Hackers are at comparable levels to Emos and Camwhores, but Trolls are way out of line. (view post)	01/02/2009

	People who sell the Haxploitation epeen should be banned imo Really, letting people get multiple peen with multiple turkeys is for the best. Not only does somebody who gets all three peens out of this end up sinking 10,800,000 flezz, but in order to get all three peens someone would need to play the game at least semi-regularly for over a year (unless there are Turkey holidays I’m not thinking of). Making flezz more valuable for people who have lots of it and encouraging longevity of active accounts are both more important than “keeping a peen exclusive”, right? (view post)	01/01/2009

	New Clbum: The Vegan I would pose the same challenge here as I would to any “new clbum” idea thread. How does [clbum idea] ruin internet communities in a way that is not: 1) Attention seeking (emos) 2) Community manipulation (camwhores). 3) Rage inspiring jackbumery (trolls). 4) Inspiring frustration due to sheer clue and hopelessness (Noobs). 5) Actually damaging the website (hackers). More to the point, how can a [clbum idea] go to any random forum on the internet and ruin it? You can troll any forum, even one that’s full of trolls. You can’t go as a vegan and ruin a vegan forum without being a troll, whore, emo, etc. You can’t go as a furry and ruin a furry forum without being a troll, whore, emo, etc. Etcetera.
