We need a non-**** forum without mod crackdowns, or at least no dragons.

Is the ForumWarz community capable of having a non-**** forum without heavy-handed moderation? I’m doubtful.

That being said, I don’t see the Dragons thing as being any more annoying than any other ForumWarz meme over the past few months. It’s not worth making a rule about them, since they’ll just be replaced by something else that annoys somebody else just as much in a few weeks.

Notorious B.I.G. Final Will and Testament.sdoc is the best dogreat timesent to have. The one-point losses in Offense and Luck are made up for by the Ego boost and the +6 in Frugality and Charisma. Though you may of course decide that it makes more sense to keep the +7 Offense, go to haxlrose and trade off a point of it for Ego, then use the extra Frugality and Charisma outside of battle only, but I’m too lazy for that.

Notorious really annoys me. I’ve gotten 106 pieces of the file, and still haven’t completed it.

That page is, however, woefully incomplete. It doesn’t have, for example, the well known fact that darkside is a low luck drop on HOFF.

I happen to think the Kyoubai Banner is terrible

I’m just somewhat annoyed that BidSquid does not appear to actually be a squid, instead he’s some sort of anthropomorphic octopus.

A couple of suggestions

I don’t know about displaying all your things, but it would certainly be nice to have a subset of inventory that’s like “dead storage”. I may want to have a copy of every single .moar file for “something to do” purposes, but having even a small fraction of them makes inventory manipulation a pain in the bum.

Otherwise, let people save certain equipment setups so they can be equipped quickly as a set, so you can go from “forum pwning” to “high luck .moar farming” to “low luck .moar farming” to “rollover” with just the touch of a bumon.

Yes, but if you don’t have the mbumive +PP boost from Ripro, you will want RectumScan. If you have the mbumive +PP boost from Ripro, you won’t need the extra PP from RectumScan. Ripro+Book+Implant is enough to pwn level 35 forums at max threads with no consumables. Since Hackers already have immense luck, at that point all you really want is offense and defense.

That’s arguable. Personally, I have more than enough PP, luck, and charisma so I’d rather have the +offense from useless program. Those who don’t own Ripro may really want rectumscan though, but you should get Ripro anyway.

We need a Kyoubai forum.

I wonder if auctionspam in GD generates more posts than the entirety of some of the other non-RP forums. I’m not sure if it would get enough traffic to justify its own forum, but hopefully it can get moved out of here either to another forum or just banned entirely.

Plus, I’m not really sure it’s effective. Do I really need to be told that you’re auctioning off Ripro and Earbleeders? If I wanted to see if anybody was auctioning off Ripro, it’s not very hard to check.

Deleting inactive users?

I don’t really care about people’s inactive alts taking up names that other people would like. I’m really just concerned about accounts that will never be played again taking up rows in the database. Aggressive DB shepherding as the game grows is important for keeping lag in check without throwing tons and tons of money at hardware.

As the game grows, at some point we’ll be in a position where the “number of people who have played the game in the past, but are now inactive” will dwarf the “number of people who are actively playing the game”. At or before that point, some kind of pruning will be reasonable.

Plus, since eventually some sort of pruning inactive account policy will seem like some combination of necessary/useful, it’s probably better to implement something like this while the game is young and small. Personally I would suggest on February 7, 2009 implementing a policy that if you are inactive for the period of 1 year and neither you nor your (legal) alts have ever owned a BP, your account will be deleted.
