How would you improve voting in itembuildr?I honestly don’t see the point of having downvoting at all.
Would “Up” and “Pbum” really result in much worse granularity than Up/Pbum/Down? I mean, the one that the most people like is going to win anyway… what’s the point of having downvotes?

Suggestion: Buildr score requirement to access the Consumers' Co-OpI don’t think this is a good idea, for the simple reason that if a certain buildr score were required to access in-game content, everybody would feel obligated to use all of their 7 submissions per week, which would result in even more work for everybody else in order to separate the good ideas from the chaff. Not only that, but if “not having a good enough buildr score” would cut people off from in-game content people would get more bumhurt if/when their submissions are downvoted/not accepted.
Not only that, but having a buildr score requirement to use the co-op, would mean the shop is less effective as a flezz sink, since there would be fewer of these items created, and what the game really needs now is not “less efficient flezz sinks.” (view post) |

If I were to respec, I might spend 3 more upgrade points on another level of egomania in exchange for one less level of offense. All upgrade points spent on either egomania, offense, or upkeep (the remainder of the UP modulo 3.)
This works pretty well, I can usually pwn level 35 forums at max threads without consumables.

BP ideasI think wordfilters would work if they cost something like 20 BP and were subject to moderator approval (and you weren’t refunded your BP if they were rejected). For $25, it would be worth ET’s time to go through the list and filter out the bad ideas.

In order to be really good, it would have to be a very slow process. Something like:
Step 1: Call for submissions goes out.
Step 2: CZ goes through the submissions and chooses the ten (arbitrary number) best ideas.
Step 3: Players vote on which of those ten they like the best, that’s the next clbum.
Step 4: A call for concepts for equipment and skills goes out.
Step 5: CZ picks through the submissions and chooses their favorites.
Step 6: Players vote on which of CZ’s favorites are the best.
Step 7: CZ tweaks the numbers on the skills and equipment, and viola new clbum.
It could be good, but it would require a significant degree of oversight in order to not detract from the game. It doesn’t matter so much if there are ****ty ideas for forums in the game, as new players who would potentially be turned off by something lame might not see them for days if not weeks. On the other hand, everybody sees all the clbumes almost immediately, so a lame clbum could potentially hurt the appeal of the game. (view post) |
