Character Idea: The SuitI think if any clbum gets added to the game at this point, it ought to be something along these lines. In the real world internet, “Pedantry” is a very important aspect of trolling (all of the best trolls I know are upstanding pedants), and this goes wholly underrepresented. I mean, not everybody who goes out of their way to correct your grammar and spelling on the internet does it because they have no social skills. Some people do it because they’re bumholes, and they know it ****es you off, and it ****es you off in a way that not only fails to embarrbum them, but actually casts them in a good light in the view of some other posters; so it’s a win-win. Someone who will point by point answer an argument via multiquote, and drag an entire forum down the rabbit hole of a three hour discursion on the difference between “chile” and “chili”, touching on culinary anthropology, linguistic standards for transliteration, the true history of the American west, philosophy of etymology, and ethnobotany.
We have clbumes that do their thing via jackbumery (trolls, Hackers), dramatic histrionics (Emos, Camgirls), and idiocy (Permanoobs, Re-Res), but there are no true pedants in the game, and this needs addressing. Unlike things like furries who are really generally just some subset or linear combination of the other clbumes, the Pedant is very much unique in his or her behavior. (view post) |

Web spiderIt doesn’t need to be ludicrously good to be worth pricing very high. I would spend millions of Flezz for a webspider that worked like this:
The first time you get a .moar piece from defeating a thread, if the game gives you a piece you already have, there is a 50/50 chance of a reroll (i.e. it rolls again to see what piece you get). There are no further rerolls.
I’d say that would be worth at least a few million flezz. (view post) |

Character Idea: The Mini ModJalapeno Bootyhole Posted:
On actual forums you’ve been on, have you known habitual trolls or attention whores to mini-mod? Generally, there’s a group of people who habitually mini-mod, kiss up to the mods, etc. separate from the bumholes and drama queens. At least, there have been on the forums I’ve spent on. (view post) |

So now we can be banned for GRP posts that violate no rules?Considering that I’ve seen contests in GRP that amounted to “literally kill yourself for huge amounts of BP” I didn’t think that any fake contest would be frowned upon.
All the same though, I upvoted your forum. (view post) |

Character Idea: The Mini ModJohn Stossel Posted:
Before that happens, I think we need to develop idea about how to balance the 4 (non-challenge) clbumes we have now, as right now they’re not very well balanced at all.
Unless, of course, we dictate that all Clbumbuildr clbumes are supposed to be weaker than the 4 basic clbumes, that will at least make non-trolls feel better about themselves. (view post) |

Character Idea: The Mini ModI do think that this is a better idea for another clbum than a lot of proposals, since it is a distinct way of harming internet communities that’s really very different from the way that other clbumes do it.
I don’t know exactly how a mini-mod would “pwn” a forum, but I’m not entirely clear on what exactly (in the world of the game) “pwning” a forum entails. (view post) |

I will take my clothes off and fool around with you live on cam for BP.I’m just wondering if I offer up BP, I can have the OP do whatever I want. I mean, like “watch him eat 3 gallons of Jell-O while standing on one foot and wearing a clown wig with Jingle Cats blaring in the background.”
That might be worth 7 BP… (view post) |

Most Forums Pwned Leaderboard - Why don't we retire this leaderboard?I don’t really see a difference between this leaderboard peen and any other peen that nobody who doesn’t have it will ever get.
Barring unusual cirgreat timesstances, nobody who doesn’t have them is going to ever get: Day One, First to the Finish Line, Obey the Permanoob, Vanilla Rush, Vanilla Addict, Code Breaker, E-Pint™ We Broke IDC!, The Artist, Night of the Living Crotched, Dumpster Diver, The June Twenty-Second Incident, Failblazer, Threadconstructr SUPREME, Awesome Sauce™, Quality Unbumurance, Let Them Eat Cake, Pumpkin Krewe, An Extra Quarter, Friend of Bootyhole, Our Personal Army, Census Worker, Baby Bump, Foiled by an bum!, Oranje Pride, or I’ll BINGE to that, Jingjing, Patience My bum, Gambling Addiction, Impressively Pathetic, That’s In-Cred-Ible, and the Season 1 and 2 Dungeon Master, Dominatrix, Submissive, or Gimp peens.
Why don’t we just add 1337 to that list and go on with our lives.
The only real reason to retire that board is if Evil Trout thinks that leaderboard is boring and wants to replace it with something similar that’s less boring. (view post) |

Most Forums Pwned Leaderboard - Why don't we retire this leaderboard?Retiring a leaderboard just because nobody else is going to ever get on it, and thus are denied precious peen is pretty poor reasoning. People should want to be on leaderboards not to increase some arbitary number, but so they can stand up, pound their chests and otherwise express their manly virtue for being better than most people at something.
Better fixes would include things like: Adding peens not just for “top of the leaderboard” but for “top 5” or “top 10” places, the higher you place, the more peen you get.
Leaving things the way they are, but introducing milestone peens as well. (view post) |

Selling the best program file for hackersPhysics Posted:
Well, Hackers really don’t need much in the way of luck. I manage 70 luck with just beast0rs and .moars, that appears to be enough (there’s no evidence that luck actually helps beyond 50).
But it is a scandalously rare file, so good luck getting as much crazy scratch as you can for it. I’d bid high, but I just spent a fair bit of flezz on Tom Cruise and Incit Photos, so I might catch you on the next one. So instead, enjoy this bump. (view post) |

Very Rare Files, Abuse, and Evil Trout to the rescue.scullyangel Posted:
Wouldn’t it make more sense for the system to never flag an auction for abuse if it only is aware of one or two other times its been auctioned, and have the abuse filter not kick in until there’s a quorum of data acquired? I mean, what’s more likely “A rare file is listed on Kyoubai, I bet collectors will all want to get it and it will command a high price” or “I suspect this file has not been auctioned off before, so I will use it in a fiendish scheme to transfer flezz and hope that collectors simply do not notice it.”?
The abuse filter may not need to go away, but it should probably work differently. I wonder what percentage of auctions flagged as abuse actually are a clear cut, or apparent, case of abuse. I mean, if you have five people with IPs in 4 states and 1 Canadian province bidding on an item, no matter how much it ends up selling for, there’s probably no actual abuse going on.
Would it save time to just file a bug report before the auction even closes? For example “This is the only time the Duke Nukem file has ever been listed on Kyoubai, and it only drops in PP:RotM which is no longer available to me. I am going to bid tends of millions of flezz on it, because I’m rich and I want to win. When you close this auction for abuse, please refer to this message, and undo that.”? (view post) |
