eponymous_ennui Posted: I know you’re being sarcastic but you’re right, you wouldn’t know, part of a good game(be it D&D, forumwarz or anything in general) is also knowing why people DON’T want to play, I’d much rather 10,000 people say my game sucks bum because of X, Y and Z rather no one say anything. In other words don’t treat me differently just because i gave feedback, you wouldn’t have acted that way if i had said “gee, i would love to join in but i have college” (which is actually pretty true now that i think about it). |

Yeah, I noticed that a couple of hours after I got the name. It’s pretty funny, considering that Jason Vorhees would probably KILL my character for the “horrible” things he’s done. And maybe the horrible things he’s done, too. |

Fair enough, except that posting in an interest check thread to say that you’re not interested is kind of like walking into a pizza shop and ordering a steak. Following the same analogy, “gee, I’ll love to join butI have college” is like walking into the same pizza shop and not having enough money to pay for the pizza: we’ll love to serve you the pepperoni and cheese too, but…
Regardless, my snarkiness was uncalled for. Friends, mmkay? Log in to see images! |

Sabre_Justice Posted: Sure. Just remember that each prestige clbum has its own skill and feat prerequisites that you’ll have to meet before you can take a level in it. Also, I’ve pre-formatted your character sheet. Take a look through it and try to make any future changes on this one. And oh, post in code! Log in to see images! Ugh, I messed up with the math for your character, generic. You have a whooping 28 skill points remaining for your guy: I was still calculating you as a level 1 character. Remember, your maximum rank for a single skill is 7, so go ahead and max out some skills if you so desire, or spread them over a wider range.
Also, I’ve no problems with you starting in debt provided you’re willing to dodge loansharks. Log in to see images! |

Guys, if you ever get confused by the character sheets I’m posting up, just ignore all the earlier posts and work based on the ones I just posted here. They’ll be the most accurate and up to date: edit anything you need to from here.
Once the characters are all finalised I’ll post one final round so that we can review them all, and we’re good to go! |

And a handy language and Knowledge skill (let’s say he picked it up from fighting evil thingies summoned by the enemy in wartime or something, I got the right language right?) towards Warrior of Darkness. And a couple other handy skills. Where were the requirements for the Prestige Clbumes again? |

Sabre_Justice Posted: Excellent! Log in to see images! Yes, that was very right indeed. Now if only I had a fap icon to show my pleasure… In other news, you’re free to choose Abyssal (Chaotic) or Infernal (Lawful) for your PRC: both counts towards the requirements. Here they are again for handy-dandy reference.
Alignment: any evil Base Attack Bonus: +6 Feats: Disciple of Darkness, Expertise, Power Attack Special: Must be initiated into the cult of Dispater. Warrior of Darkness Alignment: any evil Base Attack Bonus: +5 Skills: Alchemy 3 ranks, Knowledge (Arcana) 3 ranks, Speak Language (Abyssal or Infernal), Spellcraft 1 rank. Feats: Iron Will Special: Must endure a week’s worth of painful and scarring black magic rituals performed in solitude, the secrets of which take months to study and research successfully. Don’t worry about this, I’ll arrange for this to happen if you so decide to go with this clbum. Take note, Sabre, your skill points should total up to 28 (2 base + 1 Int + 1 Human, multiplied by 7). Currently they total up to 21 only (remember the one free rank in Knowledge- City), so you’ve still got 7 skill points to spend. May I suggest Alchemy? eponymous_ennui edited this message on 11/15/2007 4:35AM |

Sorry for screwing up so many people’s skill points. Log in to see images!, you have 22 skill points remaining, and your skills have a maximum rank of 7 at level 4. I’ll advise you to max your Spellcraft, since as a wizard that’s your most important skill: the rest, well, you do as you see fit.

eponymous_ennui Posted: Will my choice of language affect my character later on? And I’m having a little trouble justifying how a former soldier, current mercenary leans Alchemy. 2 ranks should do it, I guess, and the rest… can I put any more points in Intimidate? Is it just us three for the campaign? |

Sabre_Justice Posted: To a certain extent. Speaking Abyssal has the tendency to drag you deeper and further into the depths of chaos and evil, not to mention attract the attention of the demonic, while Infernal drags you towards a more ordered sort of evil and attracts the devilish. Mechanically, there’s no difference as far as the PRC is concerned, but character-wise, it depends on which way you want to go. As a suggestion, here’s a bit of backstory for your character. Feel free to alter or reject it as you will. While still a fresh-faced recruit to the army, Zak bunked with a dwarven alchemist named Vlel Stonecutter. The two of them bonded through the hardship of training and war: nothing builds trust and rapport between two people than saving his life from an explosion of alchemist fire flung by a gnomish warmachine. But the fates are never kind: Vlel caught a crossbow bolt in the chest as he shoved you away from the sights of a gnoll marksman on the opposite side of the trench. You can still remember the expression on his face as his bandolier of alchemist fire began to shatter, one after another, and how he went down silently, not even screaming when the acid flasks began to explode. You tried to put the flames out with your bare hands, but your commander dragged you away, all this while screaming for the platoon’s sorcerer to cover the retreat. He was your only friend, and he had died saving you. You, with your worthless, decadent, empty existence. Vlel had so much to live for: a home to return to, a wife who loved him dearly, a little girl who he has not seen for years… and he saved you instead. The next day, you volunteered for the Obsidian Legion. There were no “friends” in the Legion: each man looked after himself as best as he could and trusted no one beyond the length of his sword. Sure, there was much drinking and laughter and whoring together at the end of a job, but you weren’t “friends”. The drink and the drugs made it easier to forget everything you’ve seen and done: and, as far as “doing things” went, the Legion did everything. The Legion is also made up by a lot of half-fiends, most of whom speak Abyssal or Infernal. You choose which one you want. Log in to see images! |

Dammit man, you are a master at this. Okay, I’ll max out Alchemy, and put the rest in… um… Listen?
And I might wanna switch that to Infernal then, I want to at least try and keep my character sane. If he learns both languages, do they cancel each other out? Log in to see images! And he may well run into some other old Obsidian Legion members… that ought to be interesting. |

Sabre_Justice Posted: Heh, if he learns both they would sort of cancel each other out, but here’s the more poignant question: do you really want that sort of attention? Log in to see images! In response to the question I missed, yeap, it’ll just be the three of you guys unless and until someone else wants to jump in. Sabre_Justice Posted: Nah, didn’t mean like meeting an old squadmate, though that’s a possibility. It’s just that anyone who can speak in both languages would likely attract both sides of the Blood War (clicky for Wiki): the eternal conflict of the lower planes. Of course, your character wouldn’t know anything about it unless you’ve got Knowledge (Planar), but it makes for good OOC (Out of Character) reading all the same. |
