Forumbuildr Score?Did anyone get higher than “2” for forumbuildr score? (view post) |

forumbuildr CSS GuidelinesI posted this elsewhere, but I thought it would be best if I reposted since it didn’t have to do with the thread’s original topic.
Corion Posted: Evil Trout Posted: Anything in particular that I should avoid with the CSS? I plan on submitting a style for this next week, and I’d like to save you from as much headache as I can in advance. Perhaps it would be nice to have an “animate posting” bumon in the preview window to see if the CSS theme plays nice with the battle code.
I plan to turn this thread into a CSS guideline and FAQ thread. (view post) |

Random Rollovers: What do you think?Skyreal Posted:
I thought about that too, but it’s likely that instead of 1 spike every 24 hours you’d get 4 spikes, 1 every 6 hours. Which would mean a worsened situation rather than an improved one. It’s possible that you may have only 2-3 spikes per person due to the spread of timezones, but you’d still end up with more spikes, and probably more bandwidth taken.
Of course, if you made some sort of “recently pwned” bonus that players acquired when they used more forum visits one after another, you could convince players to spend all of their time at the spike of their choosing. This could help spread out the major bandwidth consumption. (view post) |

New Character Clbum SuggestionHow about a clbum for technically/computer inept people, like my mom, who fails at even double-clicking.
One of the abilities could be: – Double/Triple/Quadruple Post (Post the same message 2/3/4 times in succession “by accident”.)
Fairly weak, but with high ego and high starting frugality/upkeep (but lower Charisma). (view post) |

Forum BugI was just pwning forums today and I noticed a bad bug.
I first pwned FAP, then Zombie Armageddon, then FAP again.
Next I went to go pwn Zombie Armageddon, but changed my mind and decided to pwn Gamefabulous persons instead. I had opened Zombie Armageddon to pwn it, but clicked the “X” to close its tab in firefox. I went back to forumbuildr (different tab) and clicked on Gamefabulous persons.
The theme and logo were Gamefabulous person’s, but I noticed some strange behavior. First off, the thread’s HP was a lot lower than I remember from my last visit to Gamefabulous person’s. I thought I might have gotten lucky so I decided to pwn it anyway. After about 2-3 threads though, I noticed a weird trend.
ALL OF THE CONTENT WAS ZOMBIE ARMAGEDDON CONTENT! Log in to see images! The enemies, thread titles, posts, and replies were all talking about zombies!
So which forum was I in? Well I went ahead and pwned the entire forum since I’d already wasted the forum visit, and when I got finished my feed said I had just pwned Zombie Armageddon.
That’s right. The logo and style looked exactly like Gamefabulous persons, but I was really pwning Zombie Armageddon.
Anyone else had this problem? (view post) |

Upgrade CalculatorIs there one?
I made one of my own in Excel, but it kinda sucks. No pictures, and it’s all text-based, not clicky-based.
Anyone have a better one? (view post) |

Episode 2: Would you Pay?Evil Trout Posted: I just meant that as part of a pay-to-play experience I would expect better hosting for the game. Right now I don’t expect that, since I’m a cheap bastard and haven’t given you a dime (yet). I totally understand how expensive hosting can be. I just wasn’t sure if a server upgrade was planned for episode 2 from the profit or what. II was just saying I wouldn’t want to start paying if I was still going to have intermittent problems just logging in at night.
Evil Trout Posted:As a senior Computer Science major in college, I completely understand how time consuming these large projects can be. Thank you for your dedication, and on top of that your openness and your presence within the community. I know how hard it can be to manage these huge projects and update them regularly and quickly. On top of that you also manage to browse the forums and actually respond to people who want regular updates and questions answered.
Evil Trout Posted: Ahahaha. Awesome response.
I’d probably be willing to pay $5-$10 for episode 2, I guess. Depends on how many of the things on my list on page 5 were added. (view post) |

Unequippable Itemsn00b65 Posted:Ah. Maybe the section needs to be retitled to avoid confusion. (right now it’s under my link to “unequip” one of my currently worn items) Perhaps it should say something like “Items You Can’t Use”, “Unusable Items”, “Items for Other Clbumes”, etc.
Also, since you can’t send items from player to player, perhaps one should be barred from ever buying anything they can’t use in the first place. (view post) |

Episode 2: Would you Pay?I probably would not pay for episode unless …
1. The servers got a SERIOUS upgrade. 2. The game started to offer “more” – right now the game doesn’t have very much depth. It feels deeper than it is because of things like sTalk and the Bookmarks and generally the way the game is structured. For me to pay for it, it would have to genuinely gain more depth to it. 3. I got another/more character slots and/or more forum visits/day.
Also, a lot of the forums are visually … lacking … most forums on the internet use standardized download packages and have better visuals than the ones represented in the game.
I would expect to see some major polish before I pay cash for this game.
For free games I don’t care what the quality of gameplay/visuals/interface, etc. is like, but when you enter the realm of a pay-for game I come to expect much more.
This game is INCREDIBLE for a free game, but for a pay-for game … well I guess that depends on the would-be-price.
Hope this candor helps you with your decision. (view post) |

Unequippable ItemsI can has Unequippable Items? Log in to see images!
There’s a section in the items sheet called that, but I haven’t found anything that goes there or any mention of things that go there. Shouldn’t my currently equipped items show up there or something? They’re unequippable. Log in to see images!
What is that section for? Log in to see images! (view post) |

It’d be great if ideas stayed up for 24 hours from submission, regardless of score, and after that they’d disappear if the score was less than -5. This would help push the “wave of idiots” case out of the system. (view post) |
