I would kill for the panic bumon to escape a forum if you haven’t visited a thread yet. I guess I’m a little too click happy on the bookmarks page.

It would be nice if there was some window that told us how many form visits we had left, or maybe a universal game time clock. If you had a clock you could make some special events happen within a certain time frame, which would be neat.

Actually i think we should avoid anything that makes forumwarz closer to d&d

edit for content: i mean the game is fun and original, and has a good sense of humor. d&d on the other hand has been rehashed a thousand times and so should probably be avoided

the issue with user submitted stuff in the game itself is that he needs to make sure it clears copyright.

Money sinks galore: how often do you plan on releasing new episodes? If people are finishing up this one and will now just grind on the forums they have, there’s going to be a lot of money floating around.

To steal an idea from Kingdom of Loathing, you could have the leaderboards display who has the most of item x – preferably the useless junk. People can collect useless items, because that is what people do. Or have some sort of eBay parody where people can auction their useless crap to other players.

SA-style custom titles aren’t such a bad idea, make them limited to the RP forum and you’ll have a great money sink.

Hmmm…I think I see what you’re getting at. Well, having the attacks be acute enough to respond directly to the auto-generated forum posts would be pretty much impossible, as I think it would necessitate some serious AI-type ****.

However…one thing we want to implement for future versions would be “Sensitivitrons” (working title) that make your attacks stronger or weaker depending on the forum.

Just as Flamebolt +2 works best on the Ice Monstaar of Coldmore, so would Gay Bashing work better on the Anal Enthusiasts forum.

Seconded, and perhaps in addition to out-of-combat items have out-of-combat skills as well from healing to buffs or debuffs of threads.

I like this idea a lot, actually. It makes sense that different attacks would be more damaging in certain forums: for instance, a Camwhore’s titty shot wouldn’t exactly make much of an impact in Bruce Bear’s personal forums, but would probably cause an uproar in the KKK. Instead of making it exceptionally complex with 25.36% resistant vs X attack, just have perhaps four levels of resistance- Immune, Resistant, Standard and Vulnerable- that can be either hidden or displayed.

Damage types may include:

 

- Sex: most camwhore attacks would probably be of this damage, though a troll’s insult on your sexuality or your mother’s sexuality may fall in this category as well. Camwhores will be resistant to these attacks, while trolls are likely to be vulnerable.

– lollerskate: damage from very special n00biness. Most of a Re-Re’s attacks would be lollerskate, while a camwhore’s “hay guyz” attack or a troll’s monosyllablic quote pyramid would also deal lollerskate damage. Emo kids will be vulnerable to lollerskate damage because of their pretension, while trolls are resistant.

– Emo: as the name implies. Camwhores can deal both emo and lollerskate damage through their mindless rants on their hair, like, yeah, and she was, like, totally very special, y’know? Camwhores are vulnerable to emo while emo kids are resistant.

– Flame: all clbumes can flame, but trolls would probably be the master of this damage type. Most threads will probably not be resistant to flaming.

 

The general idea is that everyone will have different attacks, each of which will deal different damage types. This also adds a fair amount of variety into the attacks at higher levels, instead of them just simply being more damage for more tears/douchebaggery/sexiness.

Actually this could give trolls a much needed boost, as the trolls attacks seem like they would have a variety of damage types or ones that would not be resisted.

Actually this game already has a fair depth of strategy. Log in to see images! to make the attack is almost as important as the way you spend your upgrade points. For instance, it makes good sense to use your powerful attacks with slow refreshes early so that it has time to cool down while you make your other bumorted beats. Or you’re down to 13 Ego on a forum that deals 11-13 damage: do you use a healing item that pushes you over your max Ego, or do you make another attack and hope the thread dies? Or do you use that XSS one last time and pray that its attack doesn’t kill you?

Which is my rather long-winded way of saying “I love this game”, really. Log in to see images!

Here’s a suggestion for a future chapter: Vidyagame Warz

Most major videogame forums are awful, mainly because of all the retards who religiously attack console systems that they don’t own. For example, Somethingawful actually had to create a forum specifically for console warriors, in order to keep their bull**** out of the main Games forum. Why not try to emulate this silliness on ForumWarz? At the start of the videogame episode, the user can choose between three console warrior factions that parody the existing fanbase:

-The Nakama Buddies (Nintendo). These guys are characterized by their love of puppies and colorful children’s games. They’re terrified of sex and violence.

-The Thrax Boys (Microsoft). These guys only play macho games like sports games and violent shooting games. They hate bright colors and anything Japanese.

-The Shiba Samurais (Sony). These guys worship Japan and love japanese roleplaying games with effeminate male characters. They’re also really rich, because only rich people can afford the Shiba Gamestallion. They hate America and big muscles.

At the conclusion of the episode, your faction will reward you with a game console that can be equipped in the computer slot.
