New prank: Change NameA common complaint I see is “The name I wanted was taken by a level 1/2 who hasn’t played in months”, and I think there’s a blatantly obvious solution to this that nobody seems to have considered yet. Namely, let people prank others by changing their names.
Of course there are going to be problems with this. Mostly ones on the flamebate front, and from people getting confused from name switches. Naturally, I have a solution to this: Make all active players immune, and let players spend a BP to buy “Inactive name protection”.

In light of the upcoming Auction House: What would you pay for a complete Pink Floyd?It takes an average of 225 pieces of the pink floyd .moar file to get a completed file. As near as I can tell, you’ll average a drop rate of 3-4 pieces per visit if you wait for it to hit 11 threads.
It generally two weeks of solid grinding to get pink floyd, which means you have 2 weeks of negligible cash flow or you spend 8 weeks with it worked into a 4-forum cycle.

When doing a batch sale, you set one price that’s applied to every piece being listed.
The browsing interface should be broken down by types:
Equipment *Camwhore **Glbumes **Lingerie **Shoes *Emokid **Piercings **Tattoos *Hacker **Equipment *Troll **Fetishes *Universal **Books **Computers **Special **Web Spiders
Moar files *Complete **Dogreat timesent **Music **Picture **Program **Video *Pieces **Dogreat timesent **Music **Picture **Program **Video
Since there aren’t that many different types of things it makes much more sense to go with a directory format instead of a search format. Since there’s less than 40 or so kinds of equipment of each type, it’s not unreasonable for each item to have it’s own page where people can view the various auctions.
Pieces would require another layer of links, but that’s an acceptable trade-off for being able to get the pieces you need instead of just the entire file. (view post) |

Minor optimization suggestionI can top that. Let people mark a .moar file as “watched”, and at the end of each forum it shows how many pieces (And percentage) that file needs in order to be complete.
Alternatively, it could just show you the completeness of all .moar files that you got pieces of in that run. (view post) |
