Castle Grayskull is located in Los AngelesSome are extremely awesome, and some are extremely strange.
They are all very interesting. I’ll have to send this on to my friend in North Hollywood so he can go. He’d get a kick out of it. Thanks for sharing! (view post) |

AvatarI saw it; it was okay. The graphics were pretty. But I liked it better back when it was Princess Mononoke. (view post) |

Contest for 100 BP: Share your New Year's ResolutionOkey dokey. Sorry the results took so long, I was stuck in a two-hour drive and an existential dilemma. But I digress…
I am actually going to award two winners because I had a hard time deciding. Rather than do the BS thing and split the prize 50/50, you will each get the full 100 BP to spend as you see fit.
The first winner is: Teh Cezar! He actually seems to have goals and self-worth, and helpfully instructed me on the proper terminology. I also enjoy perverting those dreams by providing him with BP to become addicted to this game so he flunks out. Log in to see images! No, just kidding…enjoy your BP and relentless optimism!
The second winner is: Somebody! He was one of like maybe 3 people who actually read suggested guidelines, and obviously put some effort into his entry. Plus, it made me laugh. So…for your stick figures and a chuckle, you also win 100 BP!
To the rest of you, thanks for entering. See you in Episode 3! (view post) |

QFT.
And as Soron says, it largely depends on your players. But generally, I’ve found remaining flexible is the key to any GM/DM/ST success. Sometimes, being one is like herding cats; don’t be surprised if a large part of your carefully laid plans end up by the wayside. At the same time, you can always turn old plans into new plans…bwa ha ha.
Invaluable GM resource: Seventh Sanctum. Lots of good idea starters, generators, and quick ideas for coming up with stuff on the fly if needed. (view post) |

Contest for 100 BP: Share your New Year's ResolutionWith a new year upon us and some spare BP lying around, I have decided to
The idea is simple: share your New Year’s Resolution for 2010. And none of that “My resolution is not to have a resolution” bull****. It can be in-game or real life, I’m not picky.
The more effort put into explaining it, the better your chances are. Just saying it is fine if that’s all that needs be done, but you can also write a short essay, draw a crappy picture in MS Paint, or anything else you can think of if its something a little more commonplace. If you choose to get creative, it should be not be someone else’s creative, like posting someone else’s artwork or linking to a Youtube video someone else made. Those entries will be summarily ignored.
The winner is the person with the most well-thought out long-term goals and desire to use the New Year to improve themselves. Or the person who makes me laugh the hardest…that works, too. The prize: 100 slightly-stale but perfectly viable Brownie Points that you can use to pre-order the bright, shiny new Episode 3, prank the hell out of someone, or selfishly hoard away like a weird BP miser. The deadline: January 1st rollover (as in the one that takes place the morning of January 1st).
So, um, yeah…free BP. Post away! (view post) |

Um, yeah, because pseudo-Biblical mecha robots are constant themes throughout anime… Log in to see images!
Cowboy Bebop is a little more anime-exploration friendly; most of the episodes are self-contained, the characters are engaging and fun to watch, and it has the Best. Soundtrack. Ever. (view post) |

As I stared into the depths of the fridge, I thought...Chocolate syrup + orange juice = nasty bum crap.
However, orange juice and instant brownie mix (no egg versions) are surprisingly tasty as long as you keep it light on the orange juice. Bonus points if you hollow out an actual orange, pour the mix in, and put it over a fire to warm or bake it. (view post) |

Man I totally forgot how awesome Pop Up Video was.Agreed. I’d love to see some modern videos get the treatment.
You know, if they really even make music videos anymore, since all MTV and VH1 ever seem to show are crappy-bum reality shows. (view post) |

If you like Ghibli, don’t forget to snag Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. It’s Miyazaki’s feature directorial debut, but it was made for a different studio so it often gets missed.
Especially because its probably going out of print again soon. I think Manga let the license run out and so it shall once again drift around until someone again purchases it, makes yet another crappy English dub to go with it, and re-releases it. (view post) |
