The cast is set!

First of all, let me apologize profusely to those people who didn’t make it. There are people who I am close to on the “did not make” list, people who are popular, etc. My criteria was not friendship, my criteria was, number one, availability. I needed a mix of people who would be on the site at roughly the same time, and preferably coinciding with when I’m on the site. Once I narrowed it down to a good group of those, there were some other factors I wanted to take into account for balance, a good game, etc. There is NOTHING PERSONAL in my decisions here and I really do feel bad I couldn’t take everyone who applied.

Having said that, I am happy to now introduce the tribes!

If you’ve been cast, please leave your current klan (if any) immediately, so that you can be invited to your tribe klan. When that invitation comes, please accept it and check in to your camp. If you don’t do this in a timely fashion I’ll have to look for a replacement Log in to see images!

Your first challenge will be posted tomorrow but the game starts NOW!

I also expect to miss a lot. People obviously can’t have private conversations in public forums. Hopefully players will keep me appraised of anything substantial which happens outside of what I can see.

Hopefully after everything is said and done, we can at least have a summary of the parts that weren’t public; most of the fun of watching Survivor is getting to see all the plotting that takes place that not even all of players are privy to. I am interested in seeing how this all plays out in an environment where information is so much more readily available to the participants (and where eating and drinking aren’t really valid concerns).

And that is why Jeff Probst always asks probing questions during Tribal Council. Make sure that you ask plenty of those as well, and after the game is over, you should definitely put up the transcripts.

I plan to. The problem, of course, is that forum posting is not real-time, and I’m not taking it to IRC. So we’re slightly limited by the format. Plus Jeff gets 3-4 hours with them and can edit what you see for an interesting storyline. I hope to do something like that too. We’ll have to see how it plays out. I’m p. sure that by the middle of the game we’ll have a routine down.
