Okay, here’s seriously how I feel about this.

With Episode 3, I got

• a new storyline
• 34 new forums
• 47 new missions
• 52 new NPC conversations
• 453 new items (or a good chunk of them readily available to purchasers)
• 317 new moar files (again)
• 12 new stores
• 29 new cinematics

...for $10.

With Forumwarz Orange, I get

• unlimited use of a limited feature that was, until the trial of Forumwarz Orange rolled out, unlimited
• Expansion of the combat toolbar that people have been requesting for months
• The ability to clear your combat toolbar
• Semi-user friendly version of a Greasemonkey script (though I could and have edited the script to be exactly what I want)
• Incorporation of a Greasemonkey script into the game
• A kyoubai inbox I don’t give a **** about
• The ability to choose my favourite emoticons on the reply page of Flamebate

...for $30.

I’m honestly disgusted that the administration believes the community consists of chumps willing to pay 360 Log in to see images! for that **** (with apologies to the chumps in the community that have already paid).

At $10, Orange would’ve been a pretty mbumive cashgrab, compared to what else is sold for $10. I think I could’ve lived with it at $10, but to have this come on the heels of that package deal for both Episodes 2 and 3 is disgusting. As it stands right now, for the cost of Forumwarz Orange, I can buy the Episode bundle, 4 new alts, and still have 30 Log in to see images! left over to change ET’s avatar and title to accurately reflect my opinion on this pricing bull****.

This does suck.

Overall, I’ll leave my opinion, with its criticisms and pats on the back, out of this. I do not own this game, and I am not enough of a saint to take time and effort away from myself in order to try to make more money for someone else.

One thing I do want to say, however, is that I am a bit confused. During the Apprentice project, we were regularly consulted for our opinions of additions, new ideas, changes, and other modifications to the game. As a result, I don’t think many people can criticize the end product, Episode 3, as being a dismal failure or insult for its price.

Before the sale of Episode 3, the mbum user-base was actually asked to vote, sight unseen, to help determine how much they’d like to pay for Episode 3. Why was this not done with Forumwarz Orange? I do not understand. This all would have been avoided, and the mbumive taint-flavored bitterness on the all the tongues of Forumwarz’s most avid users would be removed.

From an economic standpoint, we once again could have learned the most productive sales price-point and been given a range at which to consider ways to price discriminate. That opportunity is lost, and now we have this. It’s not typical trolling, whining or ****ing. This is legitimate anger and insult. It risks the good-will of the relatively few hardcore users that bring in the majority of this game’s revenue and support.

I just don’t understand.

Despite having paid the full price for Orange, I do agree with the popular bumertion that it’s far too expensive for what is currently offered. There are clearly a few people who are willing to buy it right now as a gesture of good faith, but the general reaction so far has been outrage and mockery, and that’s not a good sign.

And no, ET, posting a sad face does not fix a damn thing.

The complaints about the high price are valid, but demanding that all of the features should be free is ridiculous given that only those relating to the attack bar affect one’s performance in the game. The others are, while convenient, entirely unnecessary. Also, the unlimited inbox space takes up storage on the servers. The money to provide for future server expansions has to come from somewhere, as well as that which keeps the current server running.

tl;dr I believe that it is overpriced, but that it doesn’t need to be free.

Episodes two and three are expansions. They are not necessary for ….. forumbuildr, itembuildr … or any of the other FREE services offered on this site.

The others, I’ll give you. But I wouldn’t call forumbuildr/itembuildr free services on the site. Those are more free services for CZ.
