Also, AHAHAHAHA, four entries left. I vote that we down-vote the remaining subs to -5, just to see what happens.

My original idea was that, since .moar files don’t currently have descriptions (or images, for that matter), the winner of the itembuildr for that cycle would get to suggest a .moar title as a sort of “victory lap,” and people could vote it up or down.
I’m not crazy about .moar files being in itembuildr for obvious reasons, but what’s done is done. |

Seconded. In the current state of voting it ends up like forum ideas on early Sunday night – only worse due to being limited to one idea. |

Maybe it would help if upvotes also increased the amount negative an entry can be before getting axed.
That is to say that an entry with 0 upvotes gets dropped with 5 downvotes at -5, but an entry with 10 upvotes might get dropped by 20 downvotes at -10.
That way, generally bad entries which aren’t getting upvotes still get dropped rather quickly, but ‘hit or miss’ entries that are getting a lot of upvotes and downvotes stick around longer, and get a better chance to get a surge of upvotes, rather than getting dropped when random timing gives them five more downvotes than upvotes.
The simple math could be that a submission gets dropped at -5 or -upvotes, whichever is lower, but there’s any number of possible formula to work with, depending on how resilient entries should be.
If you wanted to be really complicated, the point at which submissions get dropped could slowly rise over the course of the day, so they could drop at -100 at the start of voting, and drop at -5 near the end, giving plenty of time for decent entries to make a comeback, but letting bad entries still get progressively dropped as the day progresses, so people who didn’t want to wade through crap could just vote later in the day.
All I know is that I came to vote and I saw four total entries. Maybe a lot of them weren’t good, but four out of over three hundred? |

That sounds like how I voted. Log in to see images!
With that in mind, I think there are two major issues that need to be addressed – the first is obviously systematic down-voting to eliminate competition, but the other would be, as Trout put, related to the quality of entries.
Here were the criteria by which I automatically down-voted: – Anything related to any Forumwarz user, including the staff (ET, JB, etc). The Forumwarz game is supposed to represent an actual internet, and on the real internet, nobody outside of this website cares about anybody on this website. I ran into dozens of these.
– Anything that was obviously a prank. P. much stuff like “fine upstanding member of society.divy”.
– Anything without a description. I think I gave the Sarah Palin Moose**** entry a pbum because the name fit so well with the stats of the item, but I ran into a lot of entries that just copypasta’d “video file retrieved from the internet.”
– But half of what I down-voted were entries that didn’t even take the item’s stats into consideration. I saw tons of tubgirl, 2girls1cup, etc., entries that fit the douchebaggery element, but not a lot that hit on both douchebaggery and sexiness.
Beyond that, a lot of entries were just poor in quality – atrocious grammar, poor ideas, lack of lulz, etc.
I think the feature could benefit from a set of examples, linked to from every page related to itembuildr, as well as all the past previous entries. Additionally, once users have gotten used to the feature, the quality will likely improve. |

I think the downvote/upvote system is not suitable for itembuildr as we have so many submissions yet only 1 winner. Most people downvote other submissions so that they disappear and their submissions get a better chance. My suggestion: we need 2 stages of voting – Stage 1: Submissions are divided into brackets (maybe 8). Each player can vote for 3 submissions in each bracket. – Stage 2: 24 winning submissions are available for voting. The idea of this is to eliminate mbum downvoting and quickly get rid of bad submissions so in second stage submissions will be judged fairer. |

I think mine should be an acception to the “no fw people rule or autodownvote” because, simply, it fit with the opening of itembuildr. |

I did the Evil Trout birth one, and I don’t think it should have been downvoted just because it included a member of the game. If you think so, I have about 25 copies of Jalapeno’s Bootyhole.leer to sell you. |

Hmm, I bumumed BB meant non-CZ people. The risk in making it about a player or Mod versus an employee is that six months from now, will it mean anything to a new player?
How would most new players view a ‘SUX2BU & Escher Lesbian Makeout Video’ submission? They would never get the joke, and so, it’s a bad submission.
Your’s is obviously different, because ET is stuck here… forever. |

Yeah, I missed that. The fact that we already had CZ names in existing items (as you pointed out) makes this ‘criteria’ kind of ridiculous. |
