I honestly don’t care about shock pictures. Goatse is like “oh look he can stretch his bumhole pretty far” to me. Obviously, this is not the case for the other 99.99999999999999% of the Internet.

Even though it doesn’t bother me or someone else, you still have to set the rules to fit the majority. Just because a few people aren’t offended or whatever by Goatse doesn’t mean that it should be shown every other second, because there’s many more that are offended or whatever by it. Thus, because CZ is a business, and all businesses want is money, and the way to make money is to have as huge of a userbase as possible, you have to make the userbase as open as possible (ahaha Goatse pun), without ruining your business, of course.

Thats on a Non RP forum and look, a dead african being hanged. On a thread about the so called “black history” probably If a cz member was a african canadian he would have banned most of the posters on that thread.

I completely concur. That post is intentional trolling, and should be treated as such in a non-RP forum. Specifically, it fits into one of my criteria listed above.

That’s definitely a ‘grey-area’ trolling, if you even want to call it that. Two close friends poking light fun at each other really shouldn’t be considered trolling, especially if the Mod knows that fact.

You’ve got a solid argument regarding the lynching photo in a non-RP forum. I’d stick with that for now, instead of trying to light another fire elsewhere.

I did reported it, and I’ve been banned enought times to know the rulles. and that thread is not following the rulles. I got banned for some stuff people are doing in that thread.

If I did a thread on Ayn rands titled “In the memory of the jews that died in WWII” and on the same thread I called someone a jew and posted some concentration camp pictures I would be banned.

Seriously though, there will never be a definitive answer on shock images. What is “shock” and what isn’t is completely subjective. I think the only way to find a middle ground on this is to not ban for borderline shock, but just remove/edit the post. When someone posts goatse, the mod has to go in and edit the post anyway, so why not just leave it at that for questionable cases.

Obviously, a precedent has been set for goatse, so that won’t fly without official word. But for other images, just remove/edit the post, and take action as necessary if a player chooses to keep posting an image that was previously deemed inappropriate. That way, if I find an image that I think is borderline, I can post it, and if it gets reported and edited out, I know not to post that one anymore. If it sticks, I know that image is fine and won’t have to question using it. I just don’t agree with bans for borderline images, and this way the mods still control the content without any kind of guesswork.
