Too much emphasis is put on race in general.
“Black History Month” only makes things worse, really. By idolizing black people it creates resentment in various racist groups. Thus they become MORE racist. On the opposite side, it fosters a “We’re better than crackers” attitude in african americans, again just making the problems worse.
People need to just stop making a big deal about race in general. Slavery’s been abolished, there are laws in place to protect the rights of minorities (Though said laws go overboard at times), and racism is considered taboo for the most part in our culture.
Shut the **** up about it and hopefully people will stop giving a damn. |
