I was just nice to him, and it gave me the e-peen anyway. Being nice or nasty doesn’t seem to have an effect on the peen – you get it whatever, or at least I have. Might not be a bug though. (view post) |

I’m not disagreeing with this, since it definitely will be a problem for people in lower groups, but I don’t think it’s quite as bad as you’re making out. If some of these extra medals come into play then it’ll only be a couple of weeks before the raiders are all out of the lower brackets anyway. Bringing back limited numbers of ties (probably a bad idea… ) or making the lower brackets much smaller would probably help too as all the chaos will mostly be over by the end of the first week.
How many klan vanilla raiders are there left at this point? 10 or 20? As far as I can tell, most of the people in the top few brackets are alts or skilled solo players. Now, they’ll almost certainly cause some carnage as they move up the rankings too, but that’s a whole different discussion (and still should sort itself out fairly quickly).
Frankly the start of a new season’s always gonna be a bit of a mess for the first few weeks until people settle into their appropriate places. At least this season won’t be nearly as bad as the last with alt towers gone.
Edit: Hurr. Me no have reading comprehension. Scully already said all this, and much more succinctly too. (view post) |

It also further hindered all the players who can’t make the end of the round, which I’m obviously not a fan of.
I quite liked Fiesta and 5-Finger Discount though (although 5FD would have to be updated for the current rules). (view post) |

Domination Group (question)From earlier:

So yeah, pretty much luck, although you increase your chances by not getting any scoops at all until close to the end of the round. I think there might be a mechanism in place so you don’t get any medals if you’re in a one-man bracket, though. (view post) |

The ForumWarz Best Graphic Novels Of All Time ThreadI’m gonna be painfully obvious here and point out The Sandman by Neil Gaiman too, since it’s not been mentioned yet. Anything by Alan Moore’s usually excellent as well so I’ll mention V for Vendetta n’all. I’m currently enjoying Robert Kirkman’s stuff at the moment, The Walking Dead and Invincible don’t bring anything particularly new to their genre’s (zombies and superheroes, respectively) but are extremely entertaining nonetheless.
Errr… Sin City by Frank Miller, 30 Days of Night by Steve Niles and Ghost in the Shell by Shirow Masamune are all very good too. Can you tell my that my tastes are strictly mainstream? Just about anything else I like has already been mentioned.
I’ve also been told that DMZ by Brian Wood, The Invisibles by Grant Morrison and just about anything by Warren Ellis is worth reading, but I’ve not got round to them meself. (view post) |

I'm starting a very big project. Is this the entire internet at a certain point in time? Cos you can print out an entire large forum, but it’ll have a whole bunch of new content added moments later. And what about livejournel-esque sites? Webcomics? These are huge communities that keep having new content added every day.
Frankly I’m impressed that you’ve managed even wikipedia… and I don’t think this is possible. There’s not enough paper in the world. Good luck though!

DOMINATION THEME WEEK: July 23meeeeeeeeee Posted:
I’ve just thought of something. Lemme do the maths though, see if it works out:
Say 5 raiders, total 60 visits. 11 are wasted getting started, so you can get maximum 49 scoops each. (Without the solo vanilla scoops. Dunno their effect.)
5 solo players co-ordinating, on the other hand: each waste 3 visits getting started, but get 8 scoops for each dom, so make 64 scoops each.
If you’re in a klan smaller than 7 people (I think! Please correct me if I’m wrong) then it looks to be much more profitable solo raiding this way, though most likely more difficult to maintain. I know that’s a tiny raid group compared to the standard, but something to think about.
*Edit* Also, if klan vanilla gets significantly nerfed, you can bet the raiders will just switch over to this method. With a lot of players/alts, you can still get a lot of scoops fairly quickly. That doesn’t really confer a scoop advantage though, just makes things quicker. (view post) |
