I saw someone get 5 grand from an ex-roommate on people’s court for posting that person’s phone number on a sex site. The judge wanted to know why he hadn’t called the cops and gotten the guy arrested instead of just suing him, and he said it was because they used to be friends and he still didn’t want him to go to jail though he wanted him punished. Judge said, ok what’s the maximum for your state? You get that.
