In a way, those types of movements are beginning to be obsolete anyways. I’d say the next generations are going to be defined by immense, and largely positive, social changes due to something right under our noses: The internet and internet culture. (and no, by ‘internet culture’ i’m not talking about 4chan memes)

I agree, he overstates the case. And there is a lot of potential for change out there thanks to the web. But, it’s nice to see someone sticking it to those hipsters nevertheless.

The author is actually a young guy, and probably a guilt-wracked hipster himself. I pretty much felt the same way about the prevailing “counterculture” when I was a teenager…skateboarding mall-punks didn’t exactly have a lot to say.
