I don’t understand this question. No contests can be used to promote your auctions.

Newish rule:

...you may not use contests as a means to directly bribe people into artificially boosting your leaderboard status, if that leaderboard pertains to a legitimate talent- or skill-based competition within the Forumwarz universe. Just as Klan-based voting is illegal in Forumbuildr, so is paying a user to vote up your submissions in Forumbuildr or INCIT. You also cannot bribe a player into colluding with you in Domination, for example. For reasons of practicality, the exceptions to this rule include the Most Popular and Top Flamebaters leaderboards.

Revised Kyoubai rule to be in line with ET’s viewpoint:

“Contests which require a user to look at, or bid on, any particular Kyoubai auction are not permitted.”

My suggestion: Ban simple ‘post in this thread and/or friend me’ contests.

This might sound quite pointless, but I think that it would improve the quality of the contests nonetheless. I am aware that it would result in many contests which aren’t much better than the current ones – people would just get around the ban by doing contests with super-simple questions/requirements… but it would probably encourage people to put a little more thought into their contests anyway. And I would still prefer a “What did you eat for lunch?” contest over a “friend me and post ITT” one.

BP is real money, really. I’d say the last two should qualify, at least.

You can have a contest offering something other than Brownie Points? Heh, didn’t know that. Though I’d rather prefer a rule that Brownie Points must be involved – simply to avoid disputes. Is writing somebody’s name on your mammary glands an appropriate reward? I’m sure that people would come up with some very weird stuff. Contests should be about BP and every other reward should be a bonus.

Does guessing someone’s Systolic and diastolic count as BP? or do i get banned since BP=Brownie points no matter what?
