I really don’t think there would have been a way for you and your Klan to announce to everyone that you were planning on doing that, but a token effort would have been nice and would have solidified your position that you were doing it for reasons other than personal gain. The fact that you told no one beforehand of your plan really makes it appear moreso that you’re just claiming the high road now that you’ve gotten caught in the act.

The exploit was used by the Knights on Wednesday at 7pm PDT, 3 hours into a NEW domination round that started April the 3rd, at which time there were 4-5 people in each competitive bracket. If you actually, y’know, read the posts in this thread by the people who were INVOLVED, not random outsiders speculating, you’d have seen this. (Sancdar doesn’t count, I’m not sure why he has this penchant to talk about things he knows absolutely nothing about.)

My Klan members were not even informed of the exploit while last week’s bracket was open, to prevent any possible abuse.

If you can show me somehow that we’ve “cheated” you out of medals since 22 hours ago today, then you have my entire Klan’s profuse apologies. Otherwise, I think you might owe us one for slander Log in to see images! Lust edited this message on 04/03/2008 8:49PM

we bug reported it before we were “caught in the act.” so if by ‘no one’ you mean ‘no one but the guys running the game’ then you would be accurate.

new player appears clueless, takes great offense at stunt they were not involved in or affected by.

I guess I shouldn’t say definitely, in case I get sued for slander or whatnot. Still, there’s a reasonable suspicion here.

There was never any question of people abusing it. Allow me to reiterate that this is exactly why we wanted a quick fix to the problem. If you feel that our actions were bad, then I wish you would explain what you think we should have done instead.

Well thank you for the clarification, Arktor. Perhaps the most fair solution to the problem your klan has caused would be to completely wipe out this week’s Domination competition. And again, I ask you if you posted a thread to inform people of what your klan was going to do (without revealing the exact details of the exploit, of course) since that would seem to be the most reasonable solution to prevent the “accusations” of cheating that are now being levied your klan’s way.

The issue is a moral one, I think: people that had NOT used this exploit were being hammered by people that were. That doesn’t exactly give you or your klan a good moral high ground.

Ok, stop the ****. The “problem our klan has caused” is to help get a bug fixed that was, by your own words, being exploited to “hammer” other people. You’re the only person levying “accusations of cheating”

So all the erroneously removed scoops were returned to every player that was affected, Velveteen? Could we get anyone’s confirmation that that has happened?

But you did hurt other players; regardless of whether you meant to or not, you did cause damage to those players and I have yet to see any remorse on your (or anyone else’s) side acknowledging that fact.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. In my bracket, everyone with any scoops at all had them destroyed or stolen.

This was completely unnecessary, and this is what I’m most upset about. Not about the trophies, or that you exposed a bug, but the fact that any chance anyone in my bracket other than AF would have had at a trophy were reduced to zero from the start.

To quote others before me, some indication that you guys were trying to prove a point by using this exploit would have been nice.

The exploit is fixed, but sore feelings are going to remain for a lot of players.

maybe you should try reading. this thread has nothing to do with last round. but i guess bug reports dont count as an indication?
