It’s not dangerous because you can still use consumables. A lot of the game updates seem to be directed more at making it take longer to pwn a forum than actually making the game more interesting. The fan thing and the change in lemon scoops are the only positive changes.

– extracting moar files

– buying dom cards

– selling moar files

– and now, pwning forums

It mostly just forces you to waste turns using your AFK ability.

I haven’t cared to buy any more consumables because of the attacks yet.

Another problem with the lag spike is for people trying for Lemon scoops or the Most Fans Leaderboard. People who get lucky will have no lag spike at all, thus beating the forum six turns earlier and earning more fans. So the lag spikes mean earning Fans isn’t about skill, but luck.

Unless you buy the preventative and use it, costing you only 1 turn instead of 6.

That’s true only if you’re pwning something with 9 threads or less and one shotting every one. Otherwise the preventative wears off and one has to repeat your advice. It’s luck.

Or you bring in two, and deploy them both. Then it’s back to skill.

Those who get lucky are taking a chance they will lose to the lag spike. So they’re gambling. You can either gamble or play it safe. That’s strategy.

They’ll start to hurt us when ep3 comes out I bet. We just have an advantage because we’ve been here longer. Can’t go back in time and change it.

Just a small suggestion, but it’d be nice to these attacks being attempted and blocked after we use our special items.

You do see them. Or at least we did in testing. “The forum tried to use lag spike but failed”, some message like that.

I don’t remember if it’s in the battle log, but it certainly was at the top of the screen where the attack is usually announced.

Well, there’s no pop-up message for when an attack is blocked, but after paying a bit more attention I find that the messages indeed are showing up in the battle log. Log in to see images!
