Right now it’s maximized at 13” and everyone is compared to the leader. It’s been suggested that it might be the wrong approach as it hurts the high end people going for the top, but that’s how it works for now.

We might change the algorithm in time once we see how it goes.

i like it because it just makes more sense

now all you have to do is make those random e-peens which you don’t have to work for (hint hint that one scully got for bumping a thread) worth pretty much nothing

I’d rather see my peen return to a static figure based on number, even if the length for each peen remains weighted.

I agree with you completely, that should be changed so it’s more individual. BEcause it’s kind of not fair for others and all.

You can use some kind of logarithm functions to make sure the peen length doesn’t rise too high.

For example we can use something like this:

peen length = log(peen count + 1) + 3 * sqrt(log(peen count + 1))

0 peen: length = log(1) + 3 * sqrt(log(1)) = 0
1 peen: length = log(2) + 3 * sqrt(log(2)) = 3.19081101403304
2 peens: length = log(3) + 3 * sqrt(log(3)) = 4.24305351057273
5 peens: length = log(6) + 3 * sqrt(log(6)) = 5.80745806636561
6 peens: length = log(7) + 3 * sqrt(log(7)) = 6.13078665159369    <-- easy to get the first 6"
10 peens: length = log(11) + 3 * sqrt(log(11)) = 7.04343694790853
20 peens: length = log(21) + 3 * sqrt(log(21)) = 8.27909041794021
30 peens: length = log(31) + 3 * sqrt(log(31)) = 8.99329335187138
40 peens: length = log(41) + 3 * sqrt(log(41)) = 9.49476126965717
50 peens: length = log(51) + 3 * sqrt(log(51)) = 9.88047511765105
60 peens: length = log(61) + 3 * sqrt(log(61)) = 10.1934608777359

To reach 13" you need 325 peens, which is very far in the future.
To reach 15" you need more than 1000, which will take a lifetime.

I’m wondering which peens you think *are* an achievement? I have a bunch of peens, I consider almost none of them an achievement beyond completing the task required. I look at them all as collectible. Perform some task, receive peen. For the most part those tasks require little ability beyond patience. It never ceases to surprise me how few players have the patience though.

Some of the “first” peens are cool and could be considered achievements, but they were pretty much all awarded after the fact rather than announced as something players might want to try to achieve. Those weren’t achievement goals, they were happy accidents/milestone markers that the powers that be decided to acknowledge.

We’re talking about a system that decided that beating Faux News when it was invisible shouldn’t have a peen, but pressing a single key for 2 hours (Future Sentrillion Employee) should have one.

Let’s be realistic almost none of the existing peens involve achievement beyond showing up.

Hmmm. Interesting to see how things are looked at I guess. What is an achievement for one player is simply going about business as usual for another.

I do agree that the random wacky peens are – random and wacky. I just see no difference between randomly saying happy birthday to ET or happy anniversary to the site, or arbitrarily being awarded the I’m Gay peen for simply logging in. All peens not created equal, and hopefully the CZ crew isn’t giving a lot of weight to the silly ones, but if they are oh well. I’m just going to keep on collecting because that is what collectors do. *shrug*

I know my opinion doesn’t matter for a crap (obviously, since several people have also voiced support for your POV), but.

For the record – I think the majority of players really like the new peen system. I personally think it’s much funnier than the +1 system. It just doesn’t have that steady visible progress feel that the high end peenwhores liked seeing. They’re frustrated because there used to be a simple measuring stick (I earn a peen, yay +1!) and now it is extremely difficult to judge what will happen as you trundle along collecting.

Maybe before considering a big reversion or alternate, just explain with a little more detail how the system works. I posted this before seeing your reply here. I really believe there is large scale confusion on how the thing works.
