Going by these numbers, SW should be AT LEAST 3x more difficult than PrayPal just to match the cred difference. If you then factor in the limited supply of forum visits, the difference in cred-per-forum-visit justifies an even greater gap; if you get your cred from PrayPal it will be easier, but take many more forum visits.
Now, lets take a look at how hard it is to pwn PrayPal. IIRC, PrayPal threads have between 2k and 3k pwnage. 3x that would be 6-9k pwnage. It does about 20-30 damage to me, so it would instead do 60-90 damage at the 3x modifier. However, if we factor in the thread difference, the fact that SW gets half the threads means that it should be twice the battle in each thread. That would mean 12k-18k pwnage per thread, and 120-180 damage per hit. SW is only getting 5k-6k pwnage – a third of what would be expected. The trade-off for this is that the damage that SW does, when it hits, is a touch over twice as hard as the calculated value; 300-360 damage per hit.
It seems pretty reasonable to me, I think the problem is that that everybody’s been getting spoiled by caekwalk forums. (view post) |

Fix HackersNo. No changes yet. There hasn’t been enough time for data collection, so ANY changes would be premature.
My advice is to go to the hacker forums and work-out a balanced spec for taking on powerful forums, and then for spend your visits hitting forums that are at or below your level. That will provide the most accurate and reliable information to ET as fast as possible, and result in the shortest possible time spent nerfed.
I’ve been asking for harder forums for quite awhile now, and now we’ll FINALLY get to see people speccing out sensibly instead of going bat**** very special on offense. NOW the balancing can REALLY begin. \o/ (view post) |

52 cardsAllow higher stakes (100,000, for example) that yield more antifreeze scoops. Instead of limiting people to so many antifreeze scoops per day, limit them to receiving so many rewards of antifreeze scoops per day. By way of example, if a 50,000 bet was worth 2 scoops, and you could be rewarded ten times per day, then you could earn up to 20 scoops per day. If you stuck to 10,000 or 25,000 bets that each grant 1 scoop, then you could only earn 10 scoops per day.
Also, have the dealer take the pot on a tie instead of tampering with the cards. If you go by Vegas rules you’ll sink more money out of the economy than gets added, and allowing/promoting huge bets helps that along. (view post) |

It’s a two-step process. Step one is to identify a potential problem, and step two is to see if the potential problem is a REAL problem. Step two requires that you actually find a way to exploit the problem, then test it out. If you act in secret and actually try to get something out of it, then that’s obviously the everyday exploiting and cheating that we all know and hate. If you act in secret and try to screw things up for the sake of screwing things up, then that’s just being a male reproductive organ and not going to resolve anything. If you act in public and try to show the extent or possible extent of the problem, then that’s bug hunting.

Raepdog-Bot 5000 <Spoilers>I favor the no-leaderboard/yes-epeen idea for bots. I don’t give two ****s about domination, but since other players do they’d probably start BAAAAWWWWWing if they were getting pwned by a minion of steel.
The only downside I see to letting bots play is that they would increase server load, but that could be mitigated somewhat by having the server provide load information so bots can avoid peak times and/or having the server reject bots when there’s too much load. Other than that, having robots playing the game would just go to show how epic FW actually is compared to the failure that permeates other MMOs. WOWGlider lawsuit, anyone? (view post) |

Agreed, but flip that coin over. Basically every end-game player has already been gaming the system, and that’s no good.
Besides, if people actually did this you’d see player damage tanking as levels went up and get a pretty good idea of what’s going on.

You have somebody named “haxlrose” on your sTalk list. If you talk to him he’ll reset your stats for you, then you can repick things. If you want to play normally, then you put too many points into Ego. You also might want to consider putting fewer points into Tears and getting a cache of tears restoring items to use when you run low.
Upkeep makes your equipment take less damage, so you don’t need to repair it as often. Frugality decreases the cost of items, and the first 10 points of it increase how much you get when you sell things. Luck and Charisma improve the quantity and quality of the items you get from deliveries.
Also, somebody toss this guy a few BP once he hits 35. He’ll have earned episode 2 by that point. (view post) |

Operation: Wife BeaterLevel 8’s back around Ep1. They’d have some serious trouble affording Ep2 eq, so the balance there should be basically the same as it was pre-ep2.
The primary changes seem to be focusing on the last few abilities of each clbum. It’s the 25-and-up crowd that are getting hit the most by these latest balance changes.
Also, the Eq might need to be nerfed, but with everybody going hardcore attack-whore there’s absolutely no way to tell. What does it matter if an item gives +9000 defense, ego, and upkeep if the forums the person wielding it pwns can never get a hit in? (view post) |
