Not happy.Really, how many of the items from itembuildr (other than the special items) are actually good? It seems to me that everything is priced for endgame players, but endgame players aren’t actually going to use any piece of equipment from an NPC store unless it’s the very best piece of equipment for that slot.
I’m no longer really sure what the point of itembuildr is. Even if some of these items do eventually make it into the game via NPC shops the numbers, being randomly generated, will stand out as weird by comparison. I mean, all piercings already in the actual game give an amount of tears divisible by 5 (divisible by 25 for all the higher level ones). The piercings in itembuildr give 291, 289, and 351 tears. That’s going to stand out when everything else gives 5, 30, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, or 325. (view post) |

About equipping multiple items as a hackerIYou can equip four of the same item if you like. As a matter of fact, most endgame hackers equip 4 beast0r cables (I do.) (view post) |

How long until we get the first piece of hardware/item that grants PP?Chawin Posted:
Probably, but I don’t believe itembuildr ever had a beta period, so are we sure the code’s not just buggy? Eventually it’s reasonable to ask “Hey ET, for our mental health, could you check that the following things are possible: Itembuildr can create hardware; Processing power can spawn on non-hardware items. Thanks.”
At the same time, it’s fun to speculate. I think it’ll be another month personally. (view post) |

How long until we get the first piece of hardware/item that grants PP?So far itembuildr has generated 16 items.
1 .moar file 2 pairs of glbumes 2 tattoos 3 piercings 2 special items 2 sets of lingerie 1 fetish 3 books
Of these items 4 grant douchebaggery 6 grant tears 6 grant sexiness
Notably absent from all of these lists is: 0 pieces of Hardware 0 items that grant Processing Power.
So is this just weird RNG, and it is possible for itembuildr to generate a piece of hardware or something that gives processing power? Is it just unusually unlikely to pick a piece of hardware (worse than a 1/8 chance), or an item that grants processing power (books and glbumes should be able to grant PP, but can they?)?
So we’ve had itembuildr for over a month, and we’re still waiting to get one of everything, how long do you suppose it’s going to be? If ET or a CZ employee is reading this, could they just check the code to make sure there’s not a bug or something preventing hardware or items with PP from being created? (view post) |

MakeYourOwn(tm) ForumWarz Missions!User generated content is inevitably going to tend towards ****e, since the average internet user doesn’t display a great deal of brains or taste. But I think a lot of the various “buildr” options would work a lot better if there was any sort of degree of administrative oversight. As in “if ET actually took an interest in the quality of product produced by various buildrs”.
Things like “always having a 24 hour delay between submissions and voting” and “giving mods/admins the ability to remove really bad ideas (e.g. “FRAN IS FAT LOL” ) from consideration so there’s less chaff, and giving people some structure in which to create (this works reasonably well in itembuildr, but forumbuildr would work a lot better if periodically there was a theme for the week given, e.g. “this week we’re going to do a forum for a political cause, party, or candidate” and all submissions that don’t go with the theme are rejected out of hand.)
But yeah, just having missionbuildr left alone without any sort of oversight would be horrible. Whenever someone suggests clbumbuildr, I shudder unless the process would take at least 4 months and would have regular and numerous periods of oversight by ET. (view post) |

A Summary of ItembuildrYeah, I don’t see why the price of itembuildr items is not a function of the stats and type of the item (possibly with a random component.) It just seems to be “random” and “often very high for weak items” but “very low for good items.” (view post) |

Why was the re-re av changed?I have to say that having run some visits today, the cartoon Jimmy looks out of place where it was used as an enemy avatar, since it’s the only enemy avatar you commonly encounter that’s displayed in a cartoon fashion. (view post) |

Why was the re-re av changed?Jalapeno Bootyhole Posted:
I don’t think changing the re-re avatar would be a bad thing, but if you do change it you should probably change it to something other than the permanoob image. Either that, or change the permanoob image to something else. It’s just confusing to have the same image be representative of two different clbumes. (view post) |

Are people really submitting the same forum idea TWICE in the SAME WEEK?Andy_Dextruss Posted:
Actually, sometimes this is a good idea. I’ve submitted something right away that got -5’d within 5 minutes of suggestions being posted for voting, and submitted it again the next day and the second submission got about 40-50 votes. People are really, really downvote happy when the forum ideas first roll out. Some good, subtle, ideas get washed out because people have itchy trigger fingers. (view post) |

New character Ideas: Weeaboo, Pedophile, N166@...I think a better idea than “new clbumes” would be to have a quest that unlocks one of three “prestige clbumes” for each clbum (depending on alignment) which consists of nothing more than a new name for the clbum, a unique new skill tree, and one new unique upgrade pack. Good trolls could get pedantry attacks, evil hackers could become black hats, etc.
That would be more fun for current players and easier to balance, and add much needed variety. Plus, it would make alignment do something. (view post) |

Preset equipment lists?Oh, and in case anybody cares, my inventory is 54 pages long (54 hits of the “page down” key to get from top to bottom). Changing my equipment in any way other than “replacing the old special item with the new thing itembuildr has spit out” is a nightmare, so I just don’t do it anymore.
Outfits, or equipment sets, or separating different slots by tabs, anything… would make it worlds better. (view post) |

reserve pricesCould a mod please clarify something for me:
Is the Kyoubai forum the suggested forum for discussing potential improvements, changes, flaws, etc. for Kyoubai, or is it just for advertising your auctions?
It seems that since the forum is almost exclusively advertisements for people’s auctions, the noise to signal ratio will make it difficult to actually get a discussion going. I know I wouldn’t read this forum if it weren’t to bump this thread periodically. (view post) |

Why so much focus on Camwhores/Emo Kids?At this point, I’m just a little confused as to how we haven’t gotten a single item that gives processing power. It’s entirely likely just RNG, which is why we haven’t gotten any hardware, but glbumes and books are all plausible sources of processing power.
Actually, the thing I’m curious about is if it’s even possible for glbumes to grant PP in itembuildr (since there are currently no examples of this.) It would totally make sense for glbumes to grant geek power, but it may not be possible with the way itembuildr is built. I’m presuming it’s possible for books to grant PP, since there are already books that grant PP.
Edit: though to be honest, it’s interesting, all itembuildr items seem to be priced for the endgame. In the endgame there are currently only two different pieces of hardware that hackers actually use: beast0rs and the 50TB HDs (for when you don’t want luck). If a potential piece of hardware is better than the beast0rs, every endgame hacker gets four of them and the beast0r is obsolete. If it’s not better than the beast0rs or HDs, it’s obsolete already and nobody wants it. How do we balance this? Are the other buildr items that aren’t special items actually useful to anybody? I know most of us have purchased no fewer than eight balls to use from itembuildr, but is anything else actually useful? (view post) |
