My idea is a donate type card. A lot of people join together to win and split the dividends. A donate card would keep this going and be helpful.

Of course someone will say, “but then people will donate to their alts!” Well, they can already do this with a thief card. Two single players cannot.

There is an enhancement (further down the list) to stop usage of cards on alts (or klannies). Once this is done it would make more sense to have “Card Giv’r” and “Scoop Giv’r” type cards.. these were considered previously. Once we have goals like “End on a target number”, “fibonacci sequence” it’ll make sense to give people scoops as a strategy to screw up their target scoop counts..

Suggestion: Klan Raid Notifications

Couldn’t we have a notification on the character page to tell the user someone in their klan has started a raid? IMO it’d help get more characters to join in the lulz.

What if the Character page had a checkbox beside each name, indicating the player’s willingness to participate in Dom with that alt that week?

The checkbox’s state could be set in stone as soon as the player gets a scoop that week, and only a set number of boxes per week could be set before you could move from the page.

This way, if the alt limit is raised or lowered, there’d already be a framework in place for dealing with it, and the player would be required to maintain his or her alts, instead of letting the server guess who gets to play in a given week.

What about players that don’t play Domination? So you need an option to turn hide them? A bunch of checkboxes could be very confusing to new users that have just received an alt. Ok, so maybe we only show the check boxes if they have more then 5 alts? Seems like it’s getting a little complex Log in to see images!

heh the picture came first, I forget what we used to call it when it was in dev (God Mode perhaps?). At any rate, the name “Game Dolphin” came much later. We probably should change the icon to a dolphin of sorts.

8 alts in the top 3 brackets now. Seriously, this is becoming ridiculous. It can’t be very difficult and time consuming to implement this and I think it’s more important than a new silly peen. (Not that there is something wrong with new peens)

It’s on the list.. top priority of all Dom enhancements and has been proven as an issue. I trust it’ll be resolved in an appropriate timeframe. To do it properly will take anywhere from 8 to 16 hours development due to the nature of the change. Fit that in with regular bug fixes and other needed changes and it’s not getting done tomorrow, but soon.

If I wasn’t clear, that change was permanent. There are 3 medals available in every bracket, and ties for each medal on all brackets but the top 3. So most brackets have 6 medals up for grabs.

Black box for updates that significantly affect gameplay, since people who just play the game won’t visit the blog, twitter, or flamebate.

Blog for general announcements and ‘behind the scenes’ stuff, or anything that requires more than one or two lines to describe.

Twitter for minor changes, status updates, and other quick blurbs.

Flamebate for things that require user feedback, like this thread.

That’s basically the way things are now, it just needs to be codified as procedure.

The reasons for this is simple:

The black box is invasive, annoying, and as near as I can tell impossible to hide or remove. That makes it perfect for it’s job, as it should only be used for short messages that people NEED to see. It’s the “You are going to ****ing pay attention to me” way of telling players things.

The blog is like a dumptruck; you can load so much **** into it that it just feels wrong to post in it for tiny chucks of text. Also, smaller messages clutter things up while pushing the larger posts off the page.

Twitter is ideal for having lots of short messages, so anything that doesn’t warrant a flood of text (Hi!) can be easily handled there.

Flamebate lets users respond without having to make/login-to a different account on a different service; if they play forumwarz, they can just go into the thread and contribute. That makes it perfect for getting feedback from the community (Moreso for ideas and suggestions than sample data – threads skew early and often if you’re trying to get facts out of them)
