I posted this on August 20th and here we are a week later and now we’re 2 weeks away from launch. So this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. I have updated the OP.
Seeing as we are now two weeks away, and with all the discussion around double medals and themes in general, I think it’s best that we do not do a theme for the season end.
I will be re-diving into the Dom Advisory board in the hopes of having a major push for Domination after Episode 3. With that in mind I’d like to hit the ground rolling so I intend to develop a full plan for the next generation of Domination in short order based on the Dom Advisory Boards findings. (view post) |

Domination Season EndStill waiting on game revamp to be complete so that we can start the new season with the new lemon system. I’ll update the timeline tonight after the meeting – I’m just going on what ET tells me.
As for the Theme, I am still thinking about one that’ll work, the Double Medals doesn’t sound like the best idea based on the spread of medals this season. I’d like to do a theme, just not sure yet what. Stay tuned. (view post) |

Domination Season EndYou make a pretty good point about how no one has over 12 medals. Being able to sweep and get double in one week seems unfair for all the effort put in over the season.
Well, either way I kinda like ending a season with a theme. How about we bring back Russian Roulette? No set end time, the season just ends.
This is how the season ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper.

It’s less about the time required to build the structure and more about the load that that process would add. Every time any scoop is added to the system it would need to call that table. So it’s a little more complicated than that. I’ve been pushing for stats on scoop gain for a long time, it’s a matter of prioritizing against everything else that needs to get done. (view post) |

My point is, if I say “Get X scoops after <action> (X=Y?)” That the values of X and Y are completely irrelevant to the main point (especially given the fact that there’s a question mark in the statement). Is the statement in general a good idea? I’d rather discuss that then argue back and forth about the value of X. Once we decide that it’s a good idea we can argue about the value of X.
It’s more like saying “Should I get a haircut?” first, deciding to get one, then figuring out how long or short it should be.

I don’t know if 1000 is the magic number, maybe it’s 600? Whatever it is, yes I think that it would even out the game and make it more about strategy (how do you use your scoops) and less about “how can I ‘game’ the system to get the most possible scoops” (It was always my intent for the game to be more about Strategy and less about exploits).
Once this system is in place we can easily focus on more goals (Fibonacci, most destruction, highest natural total [no cards]), better cards or card options (pay 4 for a card, if you don’t like the 3 you got pay 1 to get 3 new choices, pay 6 and choose the card you want) and new themes (themes that aren’t just testing bug fixes, but rather that are actually fun and improve the game) Log in to see images!

Yeah I don’t like the idea of using gambling scripts. So maybe we would put a limit on the number of each scoop type you could earn?? But yeah, you’d need counters and would have to keep track of how many more you could earn that day/week (which is annoying).

Martyr is more for lazy people that just want some extra scoops for no work. It also exists because you can’t get much antifreeze anywhere in the game. I would hardly consider it a viable means for getting scoops. I think I’d rather define a better way to get Antifreeze and just remove the martyr option altogether. I mean really, does anyone actually get scoops that way as their primary source? No.

Yes. Is there anything wrong with there being a max? The game is supposed to be about Strategy. AKA: How do you make the most of what you have. It is a by-product of all the holes and exploits in the existing system that makes it more about getting the most scoops possible to survive a barrage of card attacks. I’m proposing that the game be made more into a Strategy game like it was always intended to be. Everyone can get the same max and it’s more about how you choose to use the scoops you’ve earned.

I believe the idea here is to support Euro players. As I’ve said before, build first, tweak second. If those times don’t work, perhaps we’d do 9am and 9pm only. The point is that alternating Dom times would accommodate the Euro players.
