People with high buildr scores can be bumholes and abuse the system if they want just like anyone else.
Acid Flux Posted:
Another bumumption that because someone has a high buildr score, they will do the right thing. Are you aware that people can and DO down vote entries in order to bubble their entries to the top and beat down the competition? Giving them the potential to have 5 times the votes can make that sort of voting much worse than it currently is.

Here is where you really lose me because you seem to acknowledge that people will need to be policed since there’s still the ability to abuse these weighted systems. If the more powerful voters will need to be watched, someone… mostly likely ET, will have to take the time to do that. That’s wasting time of his that he could be working on something else for the game. The ideal system would have no need to police anyone and eliminate the douchebaggery that goes on now.

This I missed the first time around. If you want to remove the ability to kill a submission, then just remove downvoting. It would be a simple upvote (+1) or pbum (0). If someone pbumes on everything would that same effect of them not voting at all and have no effect on the scores. A small group of players could no longer eliminate just about every submission in a few minutes before everyone else gets to look at them. And players couldn’t downvote their competition in order to “win” for the week. (view post) |

Itembuildr - Suggested Improvements/fixes threadThe Wandering Hypocrite Posted:
Looks like it to me. His second weighted vote idea would allow two players with buildr scores of 6+ to kill off every submission in minutes.
There’s also the bumumption being made with these weighted voting systems that players with high buildr scores would act in the best interests of the game when voting. That’s a foolish thing to do. (view post) |

This.
Although it would be more of an exploit then a bug.
bashy Posted:
Is this part of the rules of the game now – if we are honest and upfront about exploiting things we are allowed to do it without fear of being punished? I’d like an official CZ responsive to that, so we can all play on a level playfield. (view post) |

Ideas for new E-PeensMC Banhammer Posted:
I’d rather this be every 200 forums pwned, 200, 400, 600, etc. That’s 7 weeks and day of turns to get the next one, while the forums pwned in a row has a new one available every 4 weeks. The leap from 2000 to 4000 is 500 days of turns. That’s a long time between epeens.
Also Forumbuildr peens for getting buildr scores of 5, 10, 20, etc. (view post) |

CLOSED: CONTEST FOR 1BP: Recommend me a ****ing weird/interesting video gameTeeKayEff Posted:
Hard to top those two, both are great games. Homeworld and Homeworld 2 were pretty good for a RTS in a 3D setting. The game of the year edition came with an audio CD of the music from the game.

Domination questions.1. How do you play?
Poorly.
2. When you see a tower of scoops do you continue playing out the week, or just give up?
Quit for the week and just use cards to break engineered ties.
3. Do you use Domination cards?
Yep.
4. Do you like the theme weeks / do the theme weeks push you to participate more heavily?
Yes, the week with no shields was fun even though I didn’t stand a chance in my bracket.
5. Have you ever been involved in a klan raid? Do you want to be?
Yes. Not really, it’s kinda boring.
6. What do you think should change about Domination?
Players should be limited to a maximum amount of cards they can have at one time – say 7 to 10. It would force them to build hands for the final day by playing cards during the week to discard cards they don’t want in order to get the ones they want. To a degree it would also force people to play more during the week to protect their scoops that haven’t been converted into cards and allow players generating less scoops to potentially have more influence on a bracket when playing cards against others since it would limit the number of shields any one person could have at one time. It may also create more viable strategies for beginning, mid-week and last day card hands. This could be tested in a theme week to see how it works out.
A life time earned scoop counter should be put in place for each player that would be used to get their potential average scoops per week that they have shown they can earn and placed into brackets with others that capable of earning around the same amounts. Those that don’t raid or don’t want to be bothered with raiding could then play with players that can generate roughly the same amount of scoops as themselves through non-raiding. This of course would have to be done for a few weeks secretly before it went live in order to prevent people that will lower their scoops counts to get easy wins the first weeks that it was put in place. Naturally new players that would start raiding would an advantage for a week or two before they bubble up to the top brackets scoop earning brackets. Those that stopped raiding after doing for a long time would have more of problem moving down into the lower brackets but they could always create a new character with a few BPs to get back into the game at the lower brackets.
