I really don’t see how it could hurt anything. If it becomes the unfunny circlejerk some fear it will, you can just avoid reading it, right? Even if it ends up being mostly gimmick posts, I don’t see how that’s worse than Anonymous. I’d just try it and see what happens and if it’s truly terrible, well, it’s just a forum. It can be deleted or reworked again.
