In all seriousness he can file a restraining order against the guy, but you can plead you were defending your daugther and cancel the restraining order.
At least that’s how it works on the Brazilian law. Yes you can actually kill people if you say you were only attempting to defend yourself as long as you have a witness to back you up, but that right is negated if the jury decides your defensive acts have gone too far.
