The “problem” is essentially being solved by the community. You can have your favoritest look and feel, and ET doesn’t have to worry about making sure every change he makes and feature he implements is compatible with the clunky old interface. Everybody wins.

I’m not against user scripts. The only problem with them is that when I change things they have a tendency to break.

But as long as people are happy to use them at their own risk, and the developers are willing to update them when I break them, it’s all good.
