All I can say is, announcing it ahead of time would’ve seemed even more unfair. Because then the non-Twitter readers would’ve complained. Or someone in an unusual time zone. Or someone who had to work at that hour. And some people might still have had only four visits saved, instead of five — so what, we were supposed to broadcast the details of the entire challenge ahead of time? Ridiculous.

Anyway, to address scully, we may have over 130,000 users, but very few have completed Episode 2. By giving it to 25 players, it still ensured that only a small percentage of users could get this Peen, but still a reasonable number.

If I knew this many people would complain vehemently, would I have changed it to 50 or 100? Don’t know. There’s a good chance that those selfsame users would not have completed the mission in time and whined about it. Because that’s just how they are; they carry the Mark of the Falcon.

Even though it wasn’t completely random, there were elements of randomness to it. But you don’t complain about unfairness or lack of consideration when your scratch ‘n’ win lotto ticket doesn’t win, do you?
