All you’re doing is putting a file wrapper around archives. Obviously this is good enough to hide from parents looking to bust your porn stash or whathaveyou, but if that’s all you’re looking to thwart, then there’s much easier ways to do it. This is what we call security by obscurity, keeping **** hidden and hoping nobody finds it rather than actually protecting it.

If you’re actually concerned about keeping files completely secure so that even if someone mounts your HD in a live cd environment or whatever to have full access to everything, then you’re going to want to actually encrypt your ****. Truecrypt is a great utility for packing your files into an encrypted archive. This is what we call security by design.

edit: Also the phony pbumword protection in that first one is actually a huge mistake – all someone has to do is open it in a text editor rather than executing it and your ****ing pbumword is right there in plaintext. Good going idiot, hope you didn’t use anything you use elsewhere.
