Moderating/banning rules never go anywhere good… the less rules the better. Mods are all ‘grown ups’ they should be able to use their judgment to ban people rather than blindly following rules even if they don’t actually think it’s ban-worthy that is just Log in to see images!
Combine this with an official ‘warning’ system if someone crosses the line.
For example, if we kept the ‘rule’ about ‘no ALL CAPS posts’ in a non-RP forum, then if McBanny sees someone do so in GD, they can send a warning with an explanation of why that person was warned. The warning stays somewhere on their screen while in Flamebate as a reminder for 24 hours (maybe on the post screen, like the non-RP reminder. If they do it again within that time period, then they get banned, for however long the Mod decides.
Certain rules should stay enforced however, such as divulging personal information (although I hope wishing someone a Happy Birthday isn’t bannable), , browser hijackers, or any type child-exploitation images. And for non-RP, we should still have a restriction on shock images or intentionally offensive language (talking about ‘fine upstanding gentlemen’ in the TrollHole is ‘appropriate’. Doing so in GD obviously isn’t.
There should only be a handful of hard & fast rules. The rest should be moderator evaluation, with some type of warning system available.
