Got something in the mail aboot Obama’s relations with some *checks* Dammit, the paper’s not there anymore. Anyway, something about money and campaign organization and house purchasing. Guy’s name looked like “Rekza” or somethin’.

My mom, my dad, my old-enough-to-vote sister, and her boyfriend are all voting McCain. The boyfriend is also voting for the school superintendent that my mom’s not voting for, some black woman that said “wiff” in a spot put on the news. Seriously, woman, if you can’t even say “with”, why the hell would I want you heading up the education system. At least the semi-gay-sounding, hokey, with-faith-and-hard-work (and right after, but-hard-work’s-not-enough, though I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt on “faith” not being a religious one, but rather a 7 Habits kind), black representative-hopeful guy isn’t in a position were he’s trying to shape minds, only actig in place of them (werein I guess a guy like him would fit rather well; I live in northwest Florida, if that helps perspective). Malcolm Thomas, the more sensible superintendent guy, wants to reform, whereas the black lady (I’m not even gonna bother trying to remember her name) wants to refine the standing policies, which my mom, an elementary school teacher’s aide, sees as a big “NO”, especially considering that curriculum and graduation are severely hinged on the singular FCATs (“achievement tests”, a week-long/two “week-long”s standardized test(s) that are one-off shots at showing a kid’s mettle). I reveled in ‘em, since I’m not entirely very special, but for most (including me), gauging on a more day-to-day basis would be more indicative of a kid’s future worth to society (I fluffed off (school/home)work quite a bit, and I’m still unemployed). I’m hopiong to hear a discussion/argument between him and my mom before the elections close.
