Well, nVidia makes decent video card drivers (much moreso than ATI’s fabulous persontastic Catalyst Control Center horse****), but all my runins with ATI or nVidia chipsets have been exercises in frustration and ****ty performance/stability thanks to their inability to actually write platform drivers like the PCI and USB controllers. Anything that doesn’t “REALLY NEED” a driver, they just skip out on.

VIA is godlike with their driver availability (drivers for every possible device), but not so much with their stability. Intel is great with drivers most of the time, but not so hot with tweakability and performance. *facepalm*

I’ve only ever had nVidia and ATI cards, so all I can say is they both have thier own driver difficulties, I’ve never used the others.
