That post was buried in a rather long thread, and the active shield rule is really counter-intuitive to the gambit theme. Not up to me, but I think the OP deserves his medals.

Long or small thread, the point stands still: ”If you have one active shield you will not lose.”

I don’t really liked that rule as well, but it wasn’t me who applied it.
