It’s pretty presumptive to hail hipsterdom as the end of western (counter)culture. I’m not a fan of the whole hipster thing but the article does seem to reek of that ‘in my day countercultures knew how to fight for social change!’ crotchety grumbling.

In a way, those types of movements are beginning to be obsolete anyways. I’d say the next generations are going to be defined by immense, and largely positive, social changes due to something right under our noses: The internet and internet culture. (and no, by ‘internet culture’ i’m not talking about 4chan memes)
