Yeah they are. Despite all the things they have other people doing, there’s a ton of stuff which they don’t have outsourced. And the contributions from others will (likely) only be filling a portion of what you see.
Ironically, the coding which you refer to is probably the area they’re doing the least work in, as the infrastructure of the game is already in place from Episode 1. Sure they might be adding new types of attacks/mini-games which may require more coding, but the conversation editor, use of consumables, attacks, etc. are all coded already — all they have to do is update the database with new values. |

Well, of course they’re doing a lot of their own work; they’re just borrowing some of our work in order to speed things along, as well as to keep people psyched about Episode 2 (getting to see their own material) and to let us have a role in the game.
Personally, I’d like to see a “Create an Attack” contest. |

Actually there is a ridiculous amount of work that has to be done outside of what we’ve asked for help with.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but you’ll see when Episode 2 is released just how much new stuff there is. In terms of what MC B said, it’s true the engine is in place, but there are at least 3-4 major new gameplay/story features that need to be programmed (a lot of them will be ported back into episode 1, too!) |
