Why do I get this on my status bar after every attack I do on a forum and other times when I navigate around forumwarz? It sure doesn’t seem to make anything faster and if it has anything to do with ads, I’ve donated and disabled my ads.

you can’t actually SEE the ads anymore but i’m sure that they still load for you

they get the pagehits and thus the money

you’ve essentially payed for an aesthetic change (useless)

It has nothing to do with ads, we use google analytics to track our site stats.

Before we used them, we had a log parser, but going through millions of requests every day was slowing down the site to a crawl so we decided google analytics was the better choice.

Ultimately it helps us understand what pages people are going to the most, what features they like, etc. It’s all aggregated so it’s not like we’re tracking particular users on their paths through the site or anything evil like that.

Someone call google and tell them to go faster tracking us! Should we see in our status bar that a 3rd party is being contacted? At least it’s not contacting the NSA or whatever you canadians have!

Wait? There’s ads??

Actually I only see them when I check the site at work, not when I’m at home.

I don’t have anything special to stop them— just no-script, but I have that at work too.
