Why do you need to know the specific details before JB has had a chance to review them?

Hey guys,

After reviewing everything that’s been said, I’d say m0x’s current ban is fair game.

It’s not what you could call a case of “guilty until proven innocent.” I’d say there’s compelling enough evidence that he went out of his way to harbum a Forumwarz user — yes, offline — thereby exposing himself as the kind of user we would rather not have in our community.

His initial offense of posting personal information was bad enough and probably warranted a permaban right then and there. The fact that he appeared to follow up on it is even more offensive.

He claims he didn’t do it. He says other users can vouch for him. And other users have stepped up and spuriously claimed to “know” someone else did it. So if any such evidence comes to the forefront, we can certainly revisit this. If m0x wants to pull an OJ Simpson and track down the real It-Poster, he’s free to do so. However, the mods and I all currently agree that the ban ought to stand.

Honestly, my stance on RL info is that people will only find your IRL info if you let them slip somewhere, so this whole crap of Catt x m0x is Catt’s fault.

Want an example? MC Banhammer. That’s like the most secretive guy I’ve ever seen on the internet. See if anyone, ANYONE on this site knows anything about him besides his age. Trust me, I’ve tried researching DEEP for stuff on him and I’ve never been able to stumble across stuff.

Catt let his info slip somwhere, m0x was just fortunate enough to stumble across that and had fun with it.

Let’s just see some shocking IRL info scandals that happened here before

JB: His name is plastered al over Forumwarz, it’s easy to find stuff by then.

Merc: He used his e-mail as his vHost on synIRC, people guessed that and stumbled upon a geocities page with everything you could ever imagine about him.

i understand and would like to agree with you but i simply cannot because it’s too hard to become truly anonymous online.

Guess it’s easier depending on what you work with.
