This contest is p complicated. I still don’t understand that last challenge.

Well that’s what comes from me having to try to put in every last little detail so I don’t get ****ed at for being vague.

Not that that plan is working so well.

Anyway, I plan to release the plot of the next challenge, without the details, tomorrow at 3pm server time.

That gives you about 1 hour before the details come out. If you think that’s not enough time to ask questions, you’re wrong, but I’ll extend if there are enough complaints beforehand.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:

HuGGleS4EVerYoNE has informed me that she will not be able to participate in today’s challenge for personal reasons which I accept but will not divulge.

I have conferred with the spokesperson for her tribe (spacey) and she has agreed to my decision.

The challenge will run as scheduled, with plk sitting in for Huggles.

This is potentially a significant disadvantage for Two Girls One Tribe. It is in NO way an advantage, so I don’t expect TribeGirl to complain, but my expectations have been dashed before.

Scavenger Hunt #2: WTF IS that thing?

At the scheduled challenge start time, I will make a post in your tribe forum. In it, I will provide you clues for various “things” found around ForumWarz. You are to figure out what thing each clue refers to and post a screenshot showing that thing, demarcated in some way (circle it, box it, whatever — it must be annotated in the screenshot). Each screenshot must show the thing, the demarcation, and your character’s “welcome” message name (as proof you’re not doing it on an alt). (You may need the full screenshot utility to ensure you can get your welcome message in the same image.)

I will also specify something specific about that thing, that you must do in order to have a successful screenshot. For lack of a better term, let’s call this the “change”.

For each clue you decipher, and have at least one screenshot for, make one thread in your tribe forum. The thread title should be the solution to the clue (the thing “name” ), and the OP needs to contain the clue you found the thing with.

Within each thread, post your screenshots for that thing, along with clearly specifying which “change” the screenshot is for. You may post the shots in one post or many, and you may edit the posts as you wish.

I will count up the number of correct screenshots for each correct thing*. This number will be your score.

The following will NOT be included in your score: Incorrectly solved clue threads. Any screenshots posted in threads where the title is not the correct thing name, or where the OP does not include the clue. Any threads or posts created or edited before or after the end time of the challenge.

If you post the same thing multiple times it will count once and only once (no penalty for dupes).

The winning tribe will be the one with the highest score as defined above. The losing tribe will go to tribal council where the 7th person will be voted out of the game.

In the doubtful event of a tie, I will go through the following tiebreakers in order:

1) The team with the most number of tribemates participating (most tribemates who posted at least one correct thread and at least one correct screenshot).

2) The team with the most number of correct clues deciphered (with a minimum of one screenshot).

3) The team whose last correct screenshot posted as a separate post (not an edited one) was posted earliest.

If there’s still a tie at that point, we will have no winning tribe and move on. Details to be announced.

*[You may think a clue refers to something other than what I had intended. I’ll judge these on a case-by-case basis and may allow them if you can convince me that your solution is as equally indicated by the clue as the one I had in mind. If need be I will pull in a judge to make a call.]

The challenge will end exactly one hour after my post about this challenge in your tribe forum.

Another Q/A:

Yes, you can post screenshots taken by someone else. I’ll be looking at the screenshot to see who “found” the things, not at the person who posted the screenshot.

All these “things” are items which can be found in non-episode 3 stores.

The “change”, which is the same for every single one of these, is I want to see the costs of each of these at as many frugality levels as you can get from 1 to 57. A perfect score would then be 20 x 57 = 1140. I don’t expect either tribe to reach that number (although with more time it would be absolutely possible).

You may only annotate ONE item per screenshot, even if more than one are available on that screen. Screenshots with more than one item annotated will not be counted in your score.

Couple’a things that I’m asking on agreement from the tribe spokespeople. If you do not agree on the answers, I will have them judged.

What I had in mind for this one was Great Walls of Fire, available in von Neumann’s. The description is as follows:

Note the order of the STDs mentioned.

BOTH tribes went with “The Big Picture Book of STDs” though. I would mark it wrong, but if you both agree to count it, I will.

2) It seems that the concept of “mark the post with which frugality you were at” was missed by most people on both tribes. I’d like to ignore that requirement (as I’m going to validate anyway, it just makes it harder for me), with both of your permission.
