Protivate: It's INCIT on your iPhone!

I’m happy to announce that Crotch Zombie’s first iPhone application, Protivate, has been accepted into the iPhone App store. There’s a free Lite version to try out, but it’s currently limited to only 5 submissions. The full version costs $0.99 USD.
If you like INCIT, you should give it a shot. It can be a lot of fun to play when you’re on the go. I recently played it for an hour on the streetcar and it made an otherwise long and boring ride fun.
If this App does well, we’ll look into more apps in the future. |

Right now if you log in with Protivate you’ll join the INCIT room, full of Forumwarz idiots.
For this reason, we rated the game 17+, since the other option was censoring it and I felt that would be less appealing.
If the app is successful and many people play, we will split it off to be in its own rooms. I spent time building server instances to handle that.
So yes, it’s Forumwarz for now. But if it catches on, it will be split off from the INCIT room. |

If you could though, pleeease remove even like, one minute from the submission period. If it takes you a whopping 3 minutes to be funny, you aren’t, and shouldn’t deserve an entry.
EDIT: Moving to a 1 minute submission and 1 minute voting I think would speed up the gameplay, make it more exciting, and more spontaneously funny. Shii edited this message on 09/15/2009 3:01PM |

That would also cycle through the limited number of pictures even more quickly. Cycling is my biggest concern; if we’re getting complaints from the few players on this site who play it regularly for free, I shudder to think what’s going to happen when thousands of people start paying for it and keep seeing the same images over and over.
ET, any plans to re-open the “import pictures”? Or, hell, even just randomly yank EVERYTHING from flickr? |

This is true, but I’m talking about INCIT as well as Protivate. I think 2 minutes for Protivate would be fine, (it doesn’t take 2 minutes to type 70 characters unless you’re 90) and 1 minute for ForumWarz would be good.
This is pertinent due to Trout’s suggestion of eventually creating different rooms to play. |
