One of the 2nd generation games (GSC)
Fixed some of the issues with RBY, added some much needed complexity in the breeding system and featured a post-game bonus section that’s almost as long as the main game itself.
Runner up would be the 1st generation remakes (FireRed & LeafGreen) |

Second generation, in my mind, is the sweet spot. The first generation, while awesome, had a few flaws, and definitely lacked the scope of Generation II. As to which of those… I guess Crystal, since it has some bonus content. |
