I didn’t get them in before the deadline because I can’t find one of my W2’s. Do you HAVE to include all of them if you don’t owe anything? Yay procrastinating past the deadline. |

Not trying to take anything away from the great, brilliant minds of this community, but FWZ is probably not the best place to seek tax advice. |

kittiejenn Posted: Just because you dont owe anything does not mean you wont get a return.
You can reprint your W2’s directly from your employer’s office computer in most cases. All you need is the figures, not the form itself, esp if you are filing electronically (TurboTax) w/direct deposit. If its from a bank most likely you dont even need it unless you are Donald Trump or something. I got a p good return back after like 12 days at any rate.

I had to file mine for the first time in my life this year, did it the day I got them. It’s a lot easier and less stressful than everyone had made me believe, really.
Though I really didn’t have to look for much on them, all I knew I could get was my federal and state tax back since I don’t make ****. |

You need to report your income from that W2. If you didn’t and get audited in the next 10 or something years they will catch you and you will have to pay some crazy fine. It could happen even if it would show that you deserve more money. Not reporting all of your jobs/income could lead to bumping you into a different tax bracket, so they frown on hiding anything. |

Only just. Went to an accountant because I had to file in two states, which makes taxes WAY more of a headache.
When you’re young and you don’t have a mortgage, that really reduces your tax complexity. Once you get a real job n stuff your taxes get much more complicated. |

Yeah you still need all the W2’s because the IRS needs to see for themselves you don’t owe and aren’t hiding anything. I hope you filed an extension. Ask the employer for another copy. |
