Suggestion for Itembuildr Fairness

This will kill two birds with one stone, actually.
On the images, since downvoting is so rampant, I believe there should be a freeze on the voting after there is only a single submission remaining.
This will prevent that single one from being downvoted to -5 as well, as has happened today, and it will also prevent the final submission gaining absurd numbers of upvotes, resulting in broken numbers of chocolate scoops.

Completely eliminate the “downvoting” option (at least in itembuildr if not in forumbuildr as well), and give peopoe 2 options: upvote or pbum. That way we can see all the submissions even if we can’t log in until late in the day. |

I totally agree that removing downvoting would be great, but since we’ve been asking for that for months now and they’ve not done it, I’m bumuming it won’t be happening any time soon.
This solution would fix the short term problem while we wait for longer-term fixes. |

I agree wholeheartedly, 100% with this idea. Earlier today I had 30 votes for my idea of Karma Sutra but in the pbumed few hours, I’ve been downvoted 36 times. That seems a little ridiculous don’t you think? At least I got some Log in to see images! |

I like the idea of Upvote/Pbum, but would this make the ‘excess choc scoops’ problem even worse? Or would it just spread the choc around more evenly? |

I vote that we change the topic of this thread to “change itembuildr voting option to UPVOTE/Pbum” then. Because that’s what the majority of posters so far seem to favor. |

However, if you get to 5 scoops, get downvoted, get upvoted, get downvoted, get upvoted, etc. you would end up with 31 scoops. At the same time, if you go up/down/up/down etc. ending with 5 straight up votes, you’d end up with 1 scoop. It seems like “you get 7” is better than “you get somewhere between 1 and 31” in this situation.
It seems “you get scoops = floor[votes/5], no matter what order you get them in” would be a good system. |

You realize downvoting has no effect on number of scoops gained, right? It’s only for number of upvotes.
The scoop number would be the exact same, bumuming that people used “pbum” for every downvote.
